I enjoyed the film but I watched it for free and I havent seen the other films so I have nothing to compare it to. However, I do know that the arc of the covenant kills a crap load of people in Raiders of the lost arc so I don't really understand why people are getting bent out of shape over stuff in this movie.

I thought it was good, but the whole
ending with the aliens
was kind of awkward. It was a good movie though, I'd like to see it again.
It's certainly not terrible. I was disappointed, but there was still quite a bit to like.blazinpuertoroc

********SPOILER-DO NOT READ********(Not going to show the spoiler part)

Yeah I kinda think that was out of place and so was that
scene where the son was swinging from vine to vine
Anywho it was still a good movie, but Raiders of the Lost Ark and the Last Crusade were better(through I was pretty much expecting that). However I did enjoy it more then Temple of Doom.

I stopped caring about what happened to the characters at the amazon ants scene. I couldn't figure out what was realistic about the movie anymore. I like Temple of Doom the best. But I'm not a big fan of the series though.

People were ready to pounce on it regardless

It was a good movie, that played perfectly like an Indiana Jones flick

Besides, most critics liked that trashy Simpsons movie

Just goes to show how much reliance you should have on "critic" opinions

It wasn't a terrible movie, per se. It's just when it's held up to the original trilogy that the movie isn't that good.

Plus, the basic premise of the movie, which moves from the mythological and historical elements of the original trilogy to random sci-fi, is a bit of a letdown.

The ending was horrificFrostyPhantasm

Not all of the ending was bad(at least to me)
I like the part where the son pick up the hat, and then Indy take it from him while he is passing by, with the "not yet" expression lol
People need to realize this is Indiana Jones, NOT the Matrix

It's not supposed to be profound, you're not supposed to spend time thinking about the riddles. Indy gets a riddle, he solves it 2 seconds later, and the story progresses

I can't see how anybody could call any part of the movie "horrific"

I think spielberg/lucas perserved the Indy atmosphere perfectly. And this is from someon who didn't care for the Star Wars prequels 2&3.

Another thing that bothered me about the film was the moment's where I felt Lucas' influence, the modern Butcherer of Star Wars Lucas, that is. Moments like the dumb kiddie humor like the prairie dogs and the monkey/swinging on the vines, and how the whole "crystal skull's an alien skull!" thing was beaten over the audience's heads with a sledgehammer multiple times, culminating in that moment when the skull is held up to the alien's drawing's head, when anyone who pays half attention realized the nature of the skull the first time it's oblong shape was revealed.

In retrospect, I like the Star Wars prequels. They're still better than most movies out there. Same thing I went through with Jurassic Park. It really stood the test of time I thought. I'm wondering how Indy 4 will do. It needed to make some kind of strange sense. If it did, I didn't get it, lol.

I thought the ending was good. It gave me a huge smile before the credits rolled, knowing that there was accomplishment. Heck, it made me so in the mood that I actually sat through the entire credits just to hear the full theme song. And I usually wouldn't sit through credits unless they have some sort of bonuses.
The wedding put the series to a pleasent close. I didn't have a problem with the aliens either. I thought it was overall interesting to see something a little out of the ordinary - technologically advanced beings. But even then the movie didn't go to far into detail with what these aliens were all about. Basically gave us a glimpse of what they were before the entire ruins gets destroyed into a new sea. What I'm saying, the film didn't go too far with the aliens, and for those of you who haven't seen it yet (Since this is George Lucas on the line), he did NOT at all make it feel like a Indiana Jones to Star Wars cameo crash. So no worries...

spoiler tag wont work so SPOILER

************SPOILER*************

a couple of the stunts were too damned stupidly unbelievable. laughing off a FREAKING NUKE in a fridge? the kid swinging across the damned jungle right into a jeep? unfathomable. the prarie dog thing was craptacular. but the end with the aliens just made me want to vomit. and thats coming from someone who believes life elsewhere is very probable.

in the other movies, there were some things that are not necessarily believable. the ark of the covenant melting faces off, people ripping out hearts, i know they are far fetched as well. but for some reason the whole space ship with a crystal alien is just too much. it was too blunt. it should have been left somewhat to the imagination. i mean they are flat out saying aliens are real in the movie, and that just takes it to another realm. i dont go to see indiana jones for weird sci-fi stuff. the religious aspects in previous indy movies tied in well with the archeology theme.

i dont know, thats just how i feel about it right now. we will see if i even bother wanting to see it when it comes to dvd, but right now i doubt it.
I liked it, but a lot of people didn't like the ending. Or Shia LeBouf.Serraph105

i thought Shia was a great addition to the cast actually which really surprised me cause i was totally expecting to hate on him

I know, it's still kind of weird seeing Shia as anyone other than Louis Stevens. As for the movie, I liked it. It was a nice, fun romp around with Indiana Jones. I haven't seen the original three in forever and the aliens is a bit off from them, but it's a good movie. It's really not that bad.

I thought it was rather good and i preffered it to temple of doom, and yes im a huge fan of the originals.

A few problems obviously, and Ray Winstone had no reason to be in the film.
