Calyx - Get Myself To You

I like this. Calyx is kind of grimey (?) Drum'n'Bass dude. Songs share the distorted low bass.
I think "Get Myself To You" is the best of them. Of course the more heard "Follow The Leader" is good too.
"Follow The Leader" was the intro song in Midnight Club 3.

Fish Fry - Big Black

Been going through a Big Black phase again :D

I love the way Albini conjures up these truly horrible character studies, like in the song above. Combine that with the music and you get one hell of a band

The song is on YouTube if anyone wants to listen...

Rapeman will be hard to find, Shellac's good. Big Black is still the best.

Possibly the best song on Dirty, or at least I think so. Possibly the best song they did until "Sunday".

Thelonious Monster - Body and Soul

I wonder what the band would of sounded like if John Frusciante had went ahead and joined the band instead of joining the Chili Peppers. Cool band though.

Okay, I've finished listening to the album, but I'm going to listen to it a few more times before I pass final judgement. It's interesting and I dig it, but we'll see how much of that is due to the novelty of Western music that sounds distinctly South Asian.

I'm listening to Rephlex Radio, which is a two hour special that played on BBC I think on a Sunday at aroudn 2 am I do believe. It's all this stuff by a label called Rephlex that's owned by Richard D. James (Aphex Twin). The label specializes in something called 'brain dance'. These are teh people who kind of coined the term 'intelligent dance music', but not all of this is dance music. It's all very good. It sounds very young, very fresh, going at things from a new album, and it makes you move. Some of it is very, very aggressive, but then it softens up for about ten minutes with kids watching fireworks and some very pretty guitar. However, most of it is still electronic, and this piece goes to show how much diversity electronic music can have, which is of course, tremendous, potentially unlimited.

Darkness by Disturbed.

In an awesome note, I get to see Nine Inch Nails in concert, then four days later Disturbed, then two days after Disturbed, Metallica. I'm going to be deaf by the end, but it will be worth it.

Raining blood by Slayer

One of the most intense songs ever written, imo. It's a great song to calm yourself down to. If you're ever feeling really angry then listen to this song. Works for me.

Never been much of a Slayer fan, especially Raining Blood. It's too intense for me, I wish I could like them, but I just can't get into them.

Over Old Hills- Summoning.

Atmospheric/ Epic Black Metal band from Austria, lyrics mostly about tolkein's Middle Earth. They go well if you are reading a good fantasy novel.

That music video is a modern classic. I really like "Everybody Get Dangerous" on the Red Album. It reminds me of hanging out with my friends, causing mischief :P

Listening to Stockholm Syndrome(HAARP)- Muse

The live version has an incredible outro.

From their debut album Altars Of Madness, essential for anyone who is into old school Death Metal. This is my favourite song.
