i hearing all this on the news how politicans dont believe GW is happening, doubting etc etc...i live in Canada. our prime mininster is conservative.

anyways, there is no slow down of oil, etc, energy, digging up the earth for all its metals and oils, chopping trees down, and making large cities.

so were industrial, we buy, we waste, we dont take care.

all in all i think we deserve it, and nothing we can do now can revert it, or even slow it down, a simple person or groups have no power against governments and money hungry socialites.

thoughts? or am i being so self centered?

Global warming is a myth, what about the ice age? No cars or power plants around then. The world naturally heats and cools.

PLUS, who cares if it does actually blow up? It will prevent us from moving to mars and blowing that planet up too.

That...doesn't really contradict the whole global warming arguments at all, it just shows it would happen slower without us.

Considering that's what caused a small Ice Age around the world for several hundred years.

a modest cooling of the Northern Hemisphere during this period of less than 1°C, and says current evidence does not support globally synchronous periods of anomalous cold or warmth over this timeframe, and the conventional terms of "Little Ice Age" and "Medieval Warm Period" appear to have limited utility in describing trends in hemispheric or global mean temperature changes in past centuries Scientists have identified two causes of the Little Ice Age from outside the ocean/atmosphere/land systems: decreased solar activity and increased volcanic activity. Research is ongoing on more ambiguous influences such as internal variability of the climate system, and anthropogenic influence (Ruddiman). Ruddiman has speculated that depopulation of Europe during the Black Death, with the resulting decrease in agricultural output and reforestation taking up more carbon from the atmosphere, may have prolonged the Little Ice Age

We caused it. So I think that pretty much justifies the fact that we deserve it. I just think it's unfair that the consequences will be inflicted upon the future generations that haven't done anything to contribute to global warming.

Global warmings effects are still something to be concerned about even if they aren't directly related to death right? There is still a detrimental effect.

thats not considered pollution. its just like if the sea has salt, it should naturally have it as we all know but if we start pouring excess salt thats pollution.

global warming makes sense, because of the following reasons
1. carbon dioxide does trap heat in, this is undisputable and we are putting a lot more in the air then needs to be
2. deforestation makes the world hotter believe it or not, if we had more trees that would be less carbon dioxide.

Of course as tress use the carbon dioxide in photosynthesis and releases oxygen. I laugh at those who didn't already know that...HA, HA, HA!

Global warming is real. People just like to deny the fact that the amount of carbon dioxide is increasing at an alarming rate.

Here's why people don't believe in  Global Warming-----

1. Christians deny it. Global warming states that the polar ice caps would melt and flood the world the world. In the Bible, it says that God will not flood the world again unless the whole world has sinned. Christains believe that they have not sinned, and therefore a flood is not imminent in their lives. Even the polar ice caps would melt and flood the world, they would believe that a giant big boat would come down to save them; which is not likely to happen.

2. The US, China, and other superpowers besides Japan object Global warming because it would hinder their development with oil. Look at the man in the White House, he wouldn't give a d**m about Global warming even if his house was half-flooded.

3. It is not economically important as other issues.

What about the fact that the sun is heating up? Did you know a volcano eruption the size of Mt. Saint Helens puts more greenhouse gases and particulates into the atmosphere than all human activy in the last 100 years? What about the medievall warm period? Global warming is happening but I'm not convinced that its because of human activity.

True, But Carbon Dioxide has built up like this: 00000000000000000000000000000000001 c 00000000000000000000000000000000001 0 00000000000000000000000000000000011 2 00000000000000000000000000000000011 00000000000000000000000000000000111 00000000000000000000000000000001111 00000000000000000000000000000111111 00000000000000000000000000011111111 00000000000000000000001111111111111 00000000000000000001111111111111111 00000000000001111111111111111111111 00000000111111111111111111111111111 -----------few hundred years-------lol-------- in the past few hundred years. Could it be because of active volcanic activity? More likely to be because of the amount of fuel burnt in the atmosphere.

So then what about the medieval warm period when the climate was a couple degrees celsius hotter? Or the fact that the sun is getting hotter.

Global warming is real. People just like to deny the fact that the amount of carbon dioxide is increasing at an alarming rate.

Here's why people don't believe in Global Warming-----

Since the industrial revolution, in a decade the average climate has increased more than it would in a century. That's a fact. But scientists assume that burning fossil fuels was the main reason. Your reason may be right, but the reason that I stated is the most widely accepted by the brightest people in science.

I'm just fearing that this might happen. Look at this website for details

I'm liberal, and I think Global Warming is the biggest load since the ozone layer scare. People are freaking out over nothing. Global Warming is happening, but the changes will be gradual, so no one will even notice. All we have to worry about is all the paranoid people. I was talking to my friend who was insisting that the reason they weren't getting snow days was Global Warming. Now he's had 4 snow days in a row, and he's blaming that on Global Warming, too. But my favorite was this headline:

COLD WEATHER IN CHICAGO DUE TO GLOBAL WARMING

No, that's cold weather in Chicago due to winter...
