If we had some prophet, maybe, but thats only if. And you didn't read the part where i mentioned that after all the things God did for them, they worshipped a golden calf who did nothing for them. So at that point they lost of their faith, and needed to be punished (or so God felt in the bible). But I'm not against God for punishing them.

Sorry I see this as a bit hypocritical.. Regardless of what God was doing, they stayed faithful to their religion.. Its called a test of faith, I certainly hope god rewards people who don't instantly change beliefs after the first sign of a gift..

I was thinking this when I thought of the story in the bible that says how god killed all of egypt's first-born childs. Even after this astonishing thing happened, the pharoah still ordered his men to chase the jews across the sea.

Two things confound me here:

If you just saw with your OWN eyes a spiritual being go to town on all the first born childs, why would you even consider not worshipping him, you were even warned ahead of time.

People this day and age are always asking for proof of god's existence. If you were put into the egyptians' position and god did mass murder on your children, would you honestly go against what god wants you to do from that point on, like the pharoah did?

Just assume that the bible is a true book for a second here, why wasnt this genocide enough for the people of the world to accept a god?

Read the story more closely. The bible states that the pharoah would have let the Jews go free were it not for God having "hardened his heart". In other words, God took away the pharoah's free will and forced him to ignore Moses's demands as well as chase him to the sea. This is one of the many reasons why the OT God is widely considered to be a douchebag.

As for why people didn't convert after this happened: It's because it never did. There's no record of the pharoah's existence outside of Exodus. The Egyptions did mention something about a "minor slave revolt" but that was it as far as slaves going free were concerned. Finally, even assuming it did happen, would you really want to worship a god who just showed that he likes to kill off people solely to prove that he can? Not only that but such a being's demands fall flat when there's evidence to show that He's not at all trustworthy.

Firstly, God wasn't testing them with the golden calf. Secondly, how could they stay faithful to their religion when they worship a God made up right on the spot? And thirdly, I don't know how God rewards people.

[QUOTE="Big_player"]Because first most people would not of heard of moses, no telephone or Internet, messages take a long time to get around.

second anyone who did hear about it would of been told some propaganda by the pharoah so he could continue his vice like grip through religion.

Even though messages take a long time to get around, atleast the egyptians would have realized that the jews actually did have a god on their side and converted, but for some reason, they didnt, and instead decided to just go attacking the jews again.

Actually, the people- especially the Egyptians- knew who Moses was. The pharoah was killing all of the Isrealite's infant males at the time of Moses' birth. To avoid his being murdered, his mom made a basket and coated it with pitch (tar, more or less), and sent him floating down the river in it, with his sister to watch guard over the basket. The pharoah's daughter found Moses in the basket, and raised him as her own son. So, Moses, being the Pharoah's adopted grandson, was probably really well known in Egypt.

Well not stupid but irrational. They chose to delusion themselves and others into believing in something which doesn't really exist. They didn't realize that religion is just a tool for greedy leaders to maintain power and influence over them.

Well, there are some pretty obvious things they missed. Such as the fact that the belief in Mosaic Authorship would mean that Moses wrote passages narrating his own funeral.
