[QUOTE="Famiking"][QUOTE="-Misanthropic-"]I will submit to God, and satisfy my curiosity. As curiosity is not a sin.-Misanthropic-

Doing drugs is (okay, maybe not in christianity *shrugs*, but I'm just speaking in general).

Marijuana aint a sin either dude. Its also not addicting... where in the bible does it specifically mention smoking pot is a sin? Unless your a muslim, in which I know a limited amount of the Qur'An

Yes, I said I was speaking in general. And yes I am muslim, but even then I'm not sure if marijuana is banned or not. It most likely is though.

So is electro-shock therapy and frontal lobotomy; doesn't mean it's risk free.

You can easily go access the National Institute on Drug Abuse, which provides numerous links to studies on all of these criteria, and there are thosuands of articles floating around in the databases.Vandalvideo

In that case I will rebut it by saying type "marijauna is not harmful" into a search engine and look there.

Whew.....that one was easy. I think I will try this with all my debates:P

[QUOTE="-Misanthropic-"] No.Link us to a specific one yourself that says that.

Once again, the Institute for Drug Abuse has dozens of articles and resources on the topic, and there are thousands of articles floating around in Bandolier and like medical journals which clearly illustrate a degredation of well-being as a result of marijuana. One that comes to mind is an article in Fergusson DM that shows the consumption of marijuana greatly increases the chance of mortal injury.

If you have well documented evidence which clearly establishes that marijuana isn't harmful bring it. I have lots of articles from dozens of medical journals which show marijuana icnreases the risk of oral cancers, fatalities due to operation of heavy equipment, mental disorders, and many more.

If using marijuana is sorcery, then so is using any natural or artificial medication to cure an ailment.

I gave you a clear and concise example; Fergusson DM's article on the effects of marijuana on the increased likelyhood of mortality. There are dozens of examples of comorbity in journals like Drug and Alcohol dependence; EX The incremental inpatient costs associated with marijuana comorbidity.

Chemotherapy, I've heard, is a gruelling experience which you would never prescribe to a healthy person. It carries all sorts of horrible side effects and risks, and can often be more unpleasant than a peaceful death from cancer. Still, the doctor weighs up the pros and cons for the patient (and sometimes himself) and prescribes whatever he sees fit. The fact that he knows more about the treatment than the layman makes him an expert by definition.

Thats nice. The articles themselves discuss the effects of treating patients with marijuana, and the comorbidity and deterioration in relation to recovery.

And then the sources it lists aren't even linked.Convenient, huh?

You're linking me to a sight from a guy who's only recognised in New Jersy... I want you to give me a guy who's a top established expert in his field on the affects on marijuana. Not a site labelled "Safe Approved Medecine For New Jersey".

[QUOTE="Diccalf"]

The bible says nothing about drugs, or anything that wasnt discovered yet (like dinosaurs) at the time everyone made it up.

one of the many dead giveaways of it being stupid to belive these days.

Well said. Stuff like this just goes to show how outdated "holy books" like the bible are.

Well the bible does talk about substance abuse as a matter of fact, alcohol, the down fall substance of the States if you ask me, Im a city bus driver so i see the effects of this substance and wow, few could account the day by day occurances of the same people who abuse this stuff, and that brings up the topic that in the bible it talks about the use of alcohol and then the abuse of it, and it portrays it differantly in the old and new testaments, but thats why Jesus was sent to us to clear things up ;and according to the text alcohol, is ok ,and healthy as a matter of fact, when not abused but in biblical times and in biblical areas marijuana was not yet present, it was in asia of course for many many years
