What are some good Metal/Hardcore Bands?

I like All That Remains, Hollywood Undead, Disturbed,Skillet, andThree Days Grace. I don't like the old bands like Metallica

Demon Hunter, In Flames

Lamb of God. As the palaces burn or Wrath would be good albums to start with.

I thought Bad Acid Trip was pretty good. I mean I've only heard one or two songs and I couldn't even tell you the names, but it seems like I remember they were alright. (not my type of music generally)

Hmmm...I don't really listen to metal music, but I'm starting to get into hardcore, so I'll just suggest the band that I've been getting into recently: Escape the Fate. Listen to both albums by them because they have 2 different lead singers, so both albums have a completely different feel to them. Personally, I like This War Is Ours better because I think Craig is a better vocalist, but that's just me.

Probably the best metal you will ever likely find is OPETH.

Progressive metal kicks so much ass it hurts your insides, in a good way.

true, but Genre is not subjective. The term "bad" is opinion. The term "metalcore" is fact. and the fact is none of the bands you listed are "hardcore" by definition.

Look on page one at my list. That is "hardcore" by definition. Whether you find it good or bad in opinion.
