The Burger King I worked at was horrid, but I am pretty sure that was an isolated thing. That particular place had soo many issues.....
And as mentioned before, Wal-Mart is suppossedly a horrible place to work at....
For me, it is Old Navy, or The Gap. It is not the work. I signed on to work for them folding clothes and monitoring the fitting room etc. It is not the pay. I agreed to both pay and working conditions when I signed on with them. It is the fact that they repeatedly cut back on the hours I work for them. They give me the excuse that "they are cutting hours." Baloney, I know for a fact that other employees work a full 40 hour week. What are your experiences?Wslacker
Worst job I ever worked at wasworking customer service for a cell phone company.
Nothing against my bosses or coworkers. They were cool enough, I guess. The only problem was that our customers were all ****ing idiots. Dirtbag moronic P.O.S.es whose broke asses tried to blame ME for their inability to pay their phone bills because they were too busy smoking crack.
My sister commonly referred to Safeway as an "air-conditioned hell hole" Can anyone confrim this?xvmdg

I never worked there luckily, but I know people who have, they give basically no benefits, almost no chance for advancement, and pay the lowest amount they possibly can. If you need any evidence just google walmart and workers and you'll get plenty of info, I've personally only worked for one company which was publix which is actually a great company to work for.

I meant non-stop
Depending on how many days you work, that's really not all that bad. 12 hours a day 5 days a week is a 60 hour work week. Which still gives you 2 days off. Hourly it's comparable to having a 40 hour 9-5 job, plus a part time 20 hour job. LOTS of people do that, and it really isn't THAT bad.
Granted, I'd rather NOT have to work 60 hours a week, but I doubt it's THAT bad. Hell, I doubt that EA is making you break rocks for 12 hours every day.

Don't forget they get to sit down. I work almost 8 hour days sitting down for 5 minutes at the most. Now if I had to do that for 12 hours that would be an issue. Oh yeah, I work at a Wendy's.

I'll often work 14 hours a day without sitting down at all. In addition to that, I have to carry heavy crap and work in 0 degrees farenheit.
And honestly, it's not that bad. The ONLY things that I dislike are that I'm not making that much money, and one of my bosses is sort of a ****head.

I couldn't do it personally. Maybe it is because I am a little overweight and out of shape. Honestly though, if the physical stress didn't get to me the mental would. People have no idea how stressful fastfood jobs can be....

Safeway. They don't give a **** about employees or customers. All they care about is profits. If at the end of the day something has become unsellable, instead of letting the employees get free dibs on whatever they want, they prefer to throw it in the trash.foxhound_fox
[QUOTE="B05T0N"]That's a law...foxhound_fox
I'm not going to be able to find that law specifically, but I thought it was pretty obvious the HHS/FDA/whoever would oversee that would close whatever store allowed opened food to be consumed by employees.B05T0N

I thought you were talking about food. Oh. In that case, that sucks and is pretty mean of them. I'd say it's pretty isolated. Mine would give me a newspaper without a problem.B05T0N

Naw, I can actually understand that.
Here's the thing...if they throw away the old newspapers, ONE person might buy a newspaper before they get thrown away. If just ONE person buy the paper before they go into the dumpster, that's 50 cents in sales.
But if they give away free newspapers every night, NO ONE is going to buy a newspaper. Because then they know that they just have to wait until the end of their shift, and they'll get newspapers for free.
I think the best overall idea for businesses is the employee discount. It tricks employees into thinking that they got a good deal, when in reality it's simply suckering them into taking their money and giving it right back to the company. Like, at my job, I get half off on meals and drinks. So I can't count the number of times when I've gotten off work on a bad night, and then ordered dinner and a few drinks. And then ended up noticing that I somehow actually LOST money by going to work.
