I'm not referring to basic fears...like spiders, or whatever. I mean what do you, people of OT, truly fear, in a deep kind of way.
For example, my greatest fear is of being alone in life.

If this thread stays different from the phobia one I'll leave it open.
To answer the OP my biggest fear is that I won't always be able to protect my family.
@Kevlar101: I thought you had seen it and that's why you mentioned spiders. In any case, as I said in the other thread, there's a difference between fears and phobias so we'll see where this one leads. =)
Being at the business end of a gun. Not a phobia because I've handled guns before. But, I rather be the one pointing it.
I suppose being in prison and being bent over by a giant psycho named Bruno belongs here too.

Indeed. I think most of us who posted in that phobia thread don't really have a phobia of the things we listed. A phobia is when you fear something so much that it interferes with your daily life. I think I posted public speaking as one of my "phobias" in that thread, but public speaking only scares me when I actually have to do it. If I really had a phobia of public speaking, I would be thinking and stressing about it 24/7 and wouldn't be able to do it at all when the time comes, so yeah...it's just a fear. :P
Come live in Australia with me, I'll show you my pet spider collection lel. Nah look, I'm afraid of spiders too, so I pick spiders as my fear.
For me, it's heights--sort of. Not so much being in a high place, just the falling and hitting the ground part.
@hallenbeck77: Oh that too, I'm scared of heights and get all nervous when I'm on really high ground.
Ponies.
Purple ones mowstly.
what about death are you afraid of dying mate.
Straight to the point, I like it mate. Haha.
Being put in a retirement home.
Seriously It looks to be such a miserable and dull last years off your life that I'd rather be dropped off in the woods and let wolves eat me.
Depends where you get dropped off. When I was doing charity work with elderly I've seen a lot of old people who would barely move, showed no interest in anything and looked ready to die. When some of those people got placed in good retirement homes you'd swear they got an all expenses paid vacation trip. In just a few weeks they'd be walking around, chatting, laughing, playing games with other elderly, going on walks outside the premises, commenting on the "hotties" that worked in the home...it's like being on a retirement home took 20 years off of them. Now yeah, if you get stuck in a home where you are treated like human waste it's probably not going to be good.
Personally I'd rather go to a retirement home than being at home completely alone and wondering if I'm ever going to make it to that shower or if I'm just going to have to stink until someone remembers I'm still alive.
