l-o-l seriously?
It's an awesome album. Not as good as their first, but better than their second I think.KH-mixerX
for sure.
Personally I think it's their best album, it took some getting used to because it's different from the first two, but once I started listening to it more often I liked it more and moreBluestorm-Kalas
seriously? It's good, I think it's their weakest album though. But it did take me awhile to get use to it. after about 3 listens I fell in love with it :D

That's what I thought at first (actually I hated it at first), but after 2-3 listens I started to enjoy it, then after 4-5 I started to really like, and then I listened to it a few more times (emphasis on White Sparrow's and Saint Veronika) and now I just love it, and everything about it.

Agreed, it's their weakest in terms of riffs, vocal power..seriously, new producer just made them boring and regurgitate the same stuff they're already put out

Biggest downfall of Billy Talent III is the lyrics...I do like the fact that there is Piano in one song...I can't remember what song sadly D:

Yeah I realized their wasn't that much emphasism in Ben's voice in Billy Talent III, he sounded bored...and un-inspired.

The lack of Alice in Chains and Pearl Jam is actually a little surprising.

1)Sonic Youth-The Eternal

2) Alice in Chains-Black Gives way to blue

3) Dinosaur Jr.-The Farm

4Silversun Pickups-Swoon

5) Pearl Jam-Backspacer.

Good list (minus Mastodon :P) I forgot to mention Animal Collective, but I was disappointed with MPP, I think I was expecting a little too much. :P

Did you happen to go to Love this year? They had deadmau5 and it was just epic as always.

And why is that? If you think that way I sure ain't your friend then.

*yawn* its not the fact that you like rap, but more so b/c you posted that right after I said what I said, needless to say it was just a joke that wasn't meant to be taken seriously...if anything else I was just trying to start conversation b/c I'm bored. There's a few rap groups that I like such as Jedi Mind Tricks and Mr. Lif but in general i'm not fond of it. Sorry.

I have a new top 5:D

1. Atlas Sound- Logos

2. The Church- Untitled 23

3. F*ck Buttons- Tarot Sport

4. Amazing Baby- Rewild

5. Porcupine tree- The Incident

Film-Guy

I haven't taken too many listens to Logos, but it hasn't impressed me all that much. That said, my opinion on Atlas Sound should be taken with a grain of salt since I don't think Bradford Cox is a good musician(he's pretty mediocre IMO, but at least he's giving the soft-synth arranging community some rep), and I certainly dislike Deerhunter, so it may just be I don't mesh well with his sound. *shrug*

It's an ok album, has bright spots, but hasn't been something that stimulates me like other albums have this year.

I tend to steer clear of most EPs unless I really like the musician(s) or unless it's the only thing of theirs available. I'm really not a big fan of Deerhunter. I'll give Flourescent Grey a shot, but I'm not going to expect much. I took a gander at Cryptograms back in 07 after a friend recommended them to me, I wrote it off as a low-fi, low talent album and forgot about it. Then, after everyone claimed Microcastles was the best album last year I figured "Hey, it can't be as bad as Cryptograms, and maybe they got a lot better." Nope, same story, though it was a bit better than Cryptograms. Not impressive. I'll take a listen to them and I hope I take a liking to it, but I have a feeling that Deerhunter/Atlas Sound just won't ever appeal to me, much as how Can doesn't appeal to me(even after countless plays, and I like Kraut-rock).

So I took a listen and it's better than Microcastles. The title track was solid, a little catchy. Dr. Glass was pretty iffy; standard fare, maybe a little bit better. Like New as kinda cool. Wash Off was good enough. Better than Microcastles. Kind of like they took 3 of their strongest songs, added a 4th ok song, and made a small album. No real downside, not the biggest thrill out of it either, but I'd probably listen to it again sometime or another if I was in the mood.
