What artist essentially created your love of music?

Although many on here seem to hate Linkin Park, these guys are what made me get into music.

What about you guys?

Mystikal. I was listening to him in 1995 before anybody outside of New Orleans heard of him.

Embarassingly enough, it was Michael Jackson.

But Incubus and Funeral for a Friend are my two fave bands ever.

Naughty by Nature; I got home movies to prove it!

It was either Don Mclean, or The Killers.

I started delving into The Killers 80's british pop influences, where my musical love really is.

Well I remember listening to the Beatles, B.B. King and Elvis on my dad's record player when I was a kid...I was probably four or five then. Once I got a little older and started playing music the bands that I really got inspired by were Funkadelic, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Led Zeppelin, Rob Zombie and Monster Magnet. Weird mix, but hey, whatever.

Nirvana, my Parents got me Nevermind on cassette when I was like 6 and that started my love for Rock music

Sugar hill Gang believe it or not got me into hip hop. I bought their greatest hits and I played 8th wonder and rappers delight over and over

I like The Who. One of the few older bands I like.

After I got sick of Linkin Park, I started listening to them.

its one of their worst CDs, i would later come to find out, but when i bought it, I loved it. haha

Thrice, heard a song of their's in my early teen's and got more stuff to listen to, then eventually started listening to lots of other bands.

I don't really listen to Thrice much anymore, though, I'velong moved onto to better bands.Seems to be the way for a lot of poeple here actually, they don't listen to lots of their early bands anymore.

My Dad would play Bob Marley, The Beatles, Bob Dylan and The Kinks a lot. That's probably the first music I listened to. A Kinks compilation, Exodus, Rubber Soul and Abbey Road.

But what got me into music in my teenage years was when I heard tracks from De La Soul's 3 Feet High and Rising.

I still haven't found it. :shock:

I listen to music occasionally but haven't developed a love for it outside of Praise and Worship Music.

I think it was Sublime, my older brothers used to play it all day when I was little.

The Smashing Pumpkins were the first rock band I listened to. I moved on.

Still enjoy some of their songs, though.
