Well since most OT users like metal I would like to ask you people.

Which band did you lose your virginity to and maybe the song if you remember?

To me it was Iron Maiden back in Middle School I decided to find out why people wore Iron Maiden shirts. I believe the song was Aces High or Fear of The Dark. Then I started listening to Metallica which is now my favorite band, and Metallica got me into thrash which is now my favorite Heavy Metal subgenre.

Black Sabbath. Interestingly enough, it was the Dio version of Iron Man (from Live Evil) that got me into them, and I started mostly listening to the Dio music, although I like the Ozzy era more now.

I must say, although I don't really like the Dio versions of many of the Ozzy songs, Dio does an amazing job with Iron Man.

Not sure, when I was little I was already listening to Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, Black Sabbath and such. Only until the beginning of highschool is when I started to become a Metalhead.

It was either Iron Maiden or Disturbed. The first Iron Maiden song I heard was Run to the Hills, the first song by Disturbed was DWTS. (No I don't feel like typing the entire title. You got a problem with that? :x)

Hmm, can't remember for sure but probably Disturbed, SOAD, and some AC/DC. These are no longer the ones I listen to the most though for whatever reason.

I remember my mother reared me on Black Sabbath, and my dad on Judas Priest. My uncles friend (Who was a big metalhead) brought me up a copy of Iron Maiden's "Fear of the Dark" album when I was about 8.I felt like an angel visited me that day.

Into my teens I delved into thrash and groove, some prog, industrial and the like.I was about 12 when I first started listening to Metallica and got into stuff like Megadeth and Slayer, Machine Head, Fear Factory, Pantera etc.

[QUOTE="clembo1990"]Dragonforce. All metal is like this *flees*

Exact same for me. i thought metal was like metallica 9trash metal) and death metal, and i absolutely hated it (still do. only a few exceptions such as in flames's only for the weak and some of trivium's stuff.) however playing GH3 at some party, we were playing Through fire and flames and i realised how unbeleivably awesome the song was. Then i listened to other dragonforce songs and realised power metal was waaayy different (and miles better in my opinion) from all the usual metal.

My dad listens to more classis stuff like Zeppelin, Sabbath, Maiden, Metallica, Priest etc. I've tried showing him some heavier stuff that isn't just clean vocals but he just doesn't understand:P

For me it was Children Of Bodom.

I used to like Korn, Linkin Park, Papa Roach, Disturbed, etc., then one day I was at a metalhead friend's house and I ran into this little blue CD with the grim reaper on the cover, so I asked my friend about it and he said "oh, that's children of bodom, you probably won't like it...", I was going to take his word for it, but my curiosity beat me and I put the CD in his player. I just had to listen to the first few seconds of Follow the Reaper to realize this was unlike anything I had ever heard, and it was amazing :D. I just said "hey, this stuff is great!" and he was like "are you serious? you like it???". :P

I'm pretty sure it was Linkin Park that got me into hard rock and eventually into metal. I went from them to SOAD, to Avenged Sevenfold, to Metallica, to Pantera, to Dream Theater and so on.

The first few minutes of the S&M version is so beautiful
