The closest book that fits that definition would be Eragon. I've read the first two books lots of times, and still read them every once in a while.

The Conan stories Redwall series (childish I know but they are classic good vs evil books, also with mice) Narnia books His Dark Materials Many others as I tend to read the same authors and only gradually read new ones. I only read all of the Enderverse books for the first time earlier this year :( which was awesome :)
