Do you HONESTLY think that's the case? Hav eyou ever heard of a lapse in coverage? Sometimes there just aren't any mods online or viewing a forum for a period of time. It happens when you have volunteers who only do this in their free time. If GS ever decided to pay their moderators (which they should do because it can be a job sometimes), then they could schedule shifts and ensure proper coverage, but they can't. So instead of whining about getting caught for YOUR mistake, why don't you just do the only thing you can do and report him and wait for a moderator to take action. :|

I came home from work, logged on, checked our que and saw that thread with a report score of well over 3000 (a post that gets reported twice has a score of 50). There was no one in OT or checking the mod que at all. It happens sometime, and if you don't want lapses like that to happen again, you should write CNET and suggest to them to pay moderators so there can be assigned shifts so there is always someone watching.

What we needs is an aggressive, dedicated OT forum Computer Hacker, like the ones from that Mustang forum that owned that one kid. Then have a wall of shame with their myspaces/facebooks and other embaressing information in the stickied topic ;) I believe that would work, and hopefully not violate any privacy rights.

Simple. Report the post and/or PM a mod. And if you PM the mod, please, please, PLEASE, for the love of Pete, PROVIDE LINKS! It does us no good to have a name but not to tell us where the problem is, let alone not give any examples. I've gotten many PMs asking me to ban someone for being a jerk, yet the only reason the person asked for a ban was because of a simple debate that got heated. Without links or reports to go on, things get complicated and very annoying.

I miss being a moderator, I really do, but that is definatley one aspect I do not miss; losing sleep because I feel obligated to take care of a mess that a bunch of idiots are causing when I'm th eonly one either up or online, only to hear people whine and ***** over "Waahhhhhh! Where are the mods? I was suspended for calling someone a poopy head! and a porn thread can't even get locked?!" God, we're so taken for granted...
