Ford blows. And yes, my winter car is a Ford. But I don't care, it still blows. I only got the Explorer because the seller just replaced the transmission on it a few months ago, and were basically selling it for what that cost to put in.

What year is your Exploder? Mine is a 1996 and the thing is failing apart pretty bad. Mine is getting rusted out so bad underneath which is crazy since the truck was pretty much kept in the garage since it was bought, rust coming through plastic runner boards, rust coming through the paint on the doors and hood, starter seems to be eating batteries, brakes suck on it and the trim is falling off the side.

Only reason I have mine is to keep the insurance down and be able to drive the Challenger without getting raped by bills.

Mine is a 2000. Fords are known for falling apart, so I'm not surprised. But, it can take a beating, which is all I need for the few months of snow and ice. Then I can drive the Z again. I long for that time already, and I haven't even stored the Z yet (probably will next week).

Yeah the Exploders can take some punishment but you might look like a hillbilly with a rusted out piece of **** doing it lol Guess with Fords you just can't have nice things.

Yeah, I hate winter states. I need to move some place where the words "winter car" never leave my lips (or in this case, fingertips) again. Challengers are nice, though. Good call on that.

Ford blows.

UltimoIce

Good to know you listed many reasons why that is, especially citing Consumer Reports ratings to show in comparison with other similar vehicles that they "blow."

All American companies have really upped their quality in the past few years. They had to, because the Japanese/Korean automakers would have put them out of business, offering way better quality and efficiency for comparable prices. But I'm glad you are an authority of quality vehicles and have proven to me that all Ford cars, no matter what, "blow."

Fortunately, I don't need mindless statistics that mean nothing. I have worked on/been interested in cars since I was old enough to think properly. Not enough can be said about personal knowledge based on research and experience.

Oh, and about your consumer ratings, the Mustang always gets around a 6/10, the Camaro about a 9.1, and the Z series about a 9.3. And no, I'm not going to take the time to bring up the sites for this stuff, but I can assure you, Ford does not turn out an adequate automobile.

Of course, the only exception to my Ford (particularly Mustang) hate, is the Saleen...but you really can't count that as Ford engineering, as Saleen is shipped overseas, gutted, and sent back here with all the crap taken out of it that makes it suck.

Now driving a Volkswagen Passet V6 estate, because I want something I can stick my surfing gear in and out of plus I sometimes have a girl with me who prefers to get changed inside the vehicle, so I got blackend passenger seat windows on the back and a roofrack, although it's long enough to stick up to 3 mini-mals, hybrid or shortboard sized surfboards in the back fo the car if I'm feeling lazy and can't be arsed to tie them to the roof. It just means I got to clean up the sand sometimes and lay down the back seats.

Ideal surfer car. I wanted a Volkswagen Kombi but this was sort of the best thing as I also have to travel long distances across the motorway from the South West to the Midlands. Oh and that V6 2.6 litre engine is stunning! Mine is an automatic and you got to be careful not to put the foot down too hard from stationary as you can feel the front wheels trying to lift from the ground, I kid you not, this is an performance car in disguise!

It's a 2002 Cavalier. If you notice the paint eroding away, that is what happens when you don't wax a car in the Florida sun. I bought it in 2006 when it only had 7000 miles on it from an elderly women who never used it.

Florida, the only place I been to in America, so weird, so alien. The thing that sticks out most in my mind was the amont of toll passes, what the hell is that about? Also your roads are full of pot holes and suck, although this is going back many years, I don't see how you pay so much toll passes yet have crappy roads.

The roads have improved alot in the past 10 years. Five years ago there was always road construction going on in my area, but the wait paid off. Also yes, there are plenty of tolls on our highways, I usually just avoid them. There are plenty of ways to get around.
