Yo. I want a new phone and I'm due for an upgrade so I'm going to buy one tomorrow. I have T Mobile and I would prefer a phone with a full qwerty keyboard, minimal touch screen, and something that can hold music etc. Any recommendations? I've been looking at Blackberrys, but I don't want to wait until May to get the Blackberry Bold, so I might have to settle for the 8820. ANYWAY THANKS.

The google phone is nice, works with tmobile, and seems to match your specs (unless you really hate the touch screen). The pop out keyboard is great though, and everything but the camera is pretty nice.

Hmm... I'll look into it more. I thought about it a month ago but I really hate touch screen.

Eh....personally I do not like the G1's design...it's asdjklf; :P. T-Mobile eh? I'm T-Mobile too (though I use unlocked phones), and I say probably a Blackberry, especially if you'll be using it for Business related tasks (email, web, organizer, etc.) There's also the Wing, but I'm not sure how well that one is.

If you just need the phone for texting, then you might want to think about a sidekick, though the size of those are larger than a Blackberry. You said you were thinking of the 8820? I like that one, it's really nice, has a nice screen size, keys, and everything. Only downside is there is no camera :(.

Btw, you can always check websites like CNET if you're doing reserch on phones :).

I would do that but I'm on a family plan. However maybe I could just set up my own plan... not a bad idea.

I was kind of in the same boat, I don't really dig touch screens at all. If it didn't have the popout keyboard I would have never gotten it, texting on a touchscreen is the worst experience. Everything else on the phone is pretty sweet though, and the ability to get apps on it is cool. Plus tmobile is practically giving them away to sign a contract. My girlfriend got the zine zn5, which is also a way cool tmobile phone. No touch screen, but also no popout keyboard. But it's got the most amazing camera on a phone I've ever seen.

I'm actually doing the same exact thing tomorrow, I'm on tmobile and going phone shopping. Lately I've been leaning towards the Samsung Behold which is a touch-screen but very sleek looking and from what I hear the touch screen is very intuitive.
