I will be applying to various schools next year, and my top three choices are the University of Notre Dame, Wash U in St. Louis, and the U of Pennsylvania. I'm not sure if I'll get accepted into any of these, which is why I have to apply to a few more schools that are less selective.
I'm going to major in business, but I'm not sure of my exact major yet.

Well you picked three great ones, as Mendoza, Olin and Wharton are all top business schools.
[QUOTE="Soul_Killa_Dark"]Hopefully next year I get accepted to either:
University of San Diego
Cal Poly
Seattle University
btw I live in LA, CAB05T0N
USD and SU aren't worth the money.
Why so? I need to know because I really want to go to a good University, so I want to get other peoples opinions.

USD and SU are extremely expensive for an average education. You'd be better off going to a Cal State or California Community College. USD and SU aren't worth $45,000 and $36,000 a year.

Woooo Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo!!! Learn by doing!
I'm Food Science...its a great school especially for Ag and Engineering. And you gotta see the tractor pulls. Great town, too, very laid back but theres lots to do. Great wine country as well.

Yes and no, it is one of the more expensive CSUs, but you get an amazing education and countless opportunities.
To answer your question, when I first went it was about 900 a quarter. I think now its around 1300 a quarter...add in books, parking permits, the occasional summer quarter, and I'd say its about 20k-25k.
The great thing about Cal Poly is that right up the road to Morro Bay (about 10 minutes from Cal Poly) is a really great Junior College called Cuesta. My roommate goes there and is studing engineering and he just got accepted into Cal Poly; no easy feat. But Cal Poly is really tight with Cuesta, so its great if youre on a budget or you dont think your grades are good enough. Plus, at 20 bucks a unit, it is cheap cheap cheap lol I am taking a class at a junior college now and its only costing me 60 dollars!
The thing about college is that there are COUNTLESS scholorships out there. They have scholorships you can win simply by signing up. They may only offer 200 bucks, but hey....thats a quarter's worth of books. Then there are scholorships you get simply by writing and essay, etc.. You gotta look for them but theyre there.

3.5+ GPA and an 1800+ on the SATs.
Secure my admission?
Well, I took my SAT tests (even took the SAT II just in case, but bombed everything but science) and applied according to their guidelines. Its really quite simple to apply.
To be honest, I was suprised I got in. I had a 2.85 in high school, and the average high school GPA of a Cal Poly student was 3.6! They accept only a fraction of the applicants.
But dont despair! If you want to go to a school then freaking apply. The worst thing that will happen is they will say "no".
Here is the "prospective students" webpage:
http://www.calpoly.edu/student/prospective.html
btw what major are you interested in? The ony thing different about Cal Poly is that you need to declare a major upon applying. Its nice tho because you get major courses throughout the 4-5 years youre there as opposed to all at the end.

I plan to major in computer science. Also I would like to know your opinion on my odds of getting in: I have a 3.5 GPA (wieghted) , Have taken 4 AP courses (World History (passed with a 3), U.S. History, Physics, English Lang, so far) and 4 Honors (so far), Played 3 sports in 10th grade (JV Cross Country, JV Soccer, JV Track & Field (distance)), and I am a 2 year old Key Club member. Thanks.

I'd say your prospects are very good. The AP ****s definately help, I was told thats one of the reasons I got in too. Your GPA is also good. What about the SAT? I got a 1310 and again, that really saved my ass so I think you would want to shoot for a 1200 with that GPA. Also consider taking the ACT; you might do better on that, and it can help with an appeal.
A word of warning: computer science majors take an insane amount of math ****s, so I hope your skills there are solid. With that said, my roommate majored in CS and really enjoyed it. Got to take a ****where they make a game too!
My top three choices:
Bucknell (close to home)
Boston College (brother who lives in Boston)
Pepperdine (have a good friend who goes there)
If worst comes to worst, though, I've already been accepted into some state schools.

Bucknell is a good college. That's where I am. If you have any questions, let me know.
Honestly, though, I can't say that you have good reasons if the sole reasons for the consideration of those colleges is friends/family/close. I don't know how good the schools are, but you shouldn't be afraid to go somewhere that you don't know anyone. I didn't know anyone here at Bucknell, and things have worked out fine.
