On my mother's side, they came from Ireland and Germany. On my dad's side, they came from Germany and somewhere from Asia, but my grandmother won't tell me where. x.x And somewhere in the mix on my dad's side, there's 1/16% English. :?
On my father's side, Spain. On my mother's side, my ancestors have been in my hometown since around the 1700's, maybe a little later than that. That's why I have to be careful about who I date around these parts. :P Could be a long lost relative and that wouldn't be good.
That doesn't really matter though. I was born and raised in Canada, and where my great-great-great-great-great-grandparents came from is of little consequence. I can't stand it when people born here call themselves japanese-canadian, or ukrainian-canadian, or whatever other variant. Pride in your ancestry is good, but this is just silly.
Sorry for the rant, it just bugs me a lot for some reason.
My dads family are from Canada, my grandfather(on my dads side) served as an anti aircraft gunner in the Royal Navy, during WW2, then settled in the UK afterwards. My mothers family come from Ireland.
it seems most Americans & Canadians on here are mainly British German & Irish witch makes sense seen as there supposedly there the largest ethnic groups in North America .
Both my parent were born in (french) Canada. But on my father side I got french ancestry ( around 1760 from Anjou) and my mother is estonian ancestry from her father and Voros from my grand-mother.

On my dad's side, England, on my mom's side, Scotland and...Canada I guess? I'm part Metis, so my ancestors on my mom's side have been here for a long time.
