[QUOTE="btaylor2404"]Well I'm 35 with kids, so not much. A GPS system I've been needing, pair of Arkansas Razorback shorts I love, and a nice dress shirt. I'm also getting myself a used GameCube to catch up on the games I missed, since I never had one.psychobrewWhy not just get a Wii and play the Gamecube games on that? I really have no interest in a Wii, and a 3rd console on the entertainment center wouldn't go over as well with my wife as a cheap used GC. I've got a TV out in my office not in use, just gonna hook it up out here and play every now and then.

Spread the wealth mentality..results in a society of people who are equally poor in staus..
[QUOTE="EMOEVOLUTION"]Excessive materialism is a serious problem in the United States of America. Someone is jealous. >_> an easy assumption to make. However, I am not jealous. Majority of the best gifts I've received in my life had very little to do with how expensive they were. Or the quantity.. I received them in. I am simply annoyed by the excessive materialism that is rampant in industrialized society.[QUOTE="McJugga"] Unfortunately?JC346
Leather coat (which I haven't seen yet, since it was ordered from out of town), The Lost Symbol by Dan Brown, Stocking stuffers (chocolate, chocolate, more chocolate, pistachios, shampoo, toothbrush), an Archos 5 portable media player (a chunk of the money that went into this was from my sister), $50 from my granny, $50 from my grandpa, box of Chai Tea, and my mom sent me something but it's still in the mail. Pretty fortunate (though I've seen some crazy lists on here), but I also spent over $300 on them as well.

There's absolutely nothing wrong with a parrent wanting to spoil their childeren. It's much preferable to the other way around.

I'm not sure what you're suggesting.I'm saying there are tons of families where the parrents don't care about their childeren at all. If a parrent wants to give their childeren material items, that's not always bad. I'm not saying a parrents should spoil their childeren rotten, but many materialistic things can improve ones quality of life.
I asked my mom not to get me anything this year (as well as the rest of my close family), however as with any awesome mom she ignored my requests. Times are tough financially so I just wanted a Christmas together with my family. However she still got me a new computer desk, Star Trek DVD, and gift cards to dimple and gamestop. Itwas a very fulfilling Christmas this year, and the gifts weren't bad either.
