Outside, I spent most of recess figuring out the point where the momentum of the swinging would launch me the highest and furthest. There was also soccer, football, basketball, dodgeball, volleyball, kickball. Etc. There were also the monkey bars where we competed to see who could do the best tricks.

We weren't supposed to either, but we always managed to find decent enough hiding spots to sneak in some Gameboy time. Teacher would confiscate it for the day if she spotted us though. :P
I was incredibly hyperactive when I was young so when I was pretty young I was no doubt running around the play areas screaming and yelling as I jumped about the area. When I hit middle school I started spending the time in the library reading typically about the various pantheon myths and their questionable activities.
You're not alone... I use to just kick the dodge balls around.... they were pretty sweet, could get those things to fly a couple 100ft. if you did it right :D Lost a few on the roof of the building though, never told anyone. Someone always went up to the roof once a week for some reason and threw them all down so no biggie.
Play Imaginary Pokemon, Like my friend would be my trainer and I'd be his pokemon battling imaginary pokemon/trainers. Lol Ahhh good times....Too bad my childhood bestfriend became some angry guy who uses steroids :S yeah I don't talk to him anymore.
I have many good memories. Memories range from "playing Power Rangers" in the 1st grade, chasing a girl around in the 3rd, playing 4 square in the 5th, and pretending to be cool in the 7th (technically lunch but the point remains).
sitting with the teachers because I was always sick and any physical activity nearly made me hack my lungs out if I did play, I was probably hanging around this clique of girls for really no other reason than wanting to be one of them if they weren't around, I played on the swing
Oh yeah and Kindergarden I was playing "The Kissy Game" I'd run after boys to kiss them and they'd run from my Cooties, except the game got boring for me when they didnt run anymore....lol Sounds like a future slut haha but I'm not.
Where I went to elementary school at we didn't have recess. Any playing we did was during gym class, which technically wasn't the same since we had specific things we were doing whether it sports or running. Thinking back, I thought it was surprising since I was in elementary during the late 80s and recess really didn't start disappearing until the last decade when some schools were trying to dedicate more time to learning and figured recess was a waste of time.

Any playing we did was during gym class, which technically wasn't the same since we had specific things we were doing whether it sports or running. Lol I know what you mean, my school technically banned them after a month or so but that never stopped us

wow as soon as I read the part about the link cables I got flooded with memories of me and friends at school.
