I usually send a text to one of my friends, hoping they'll be up so I can chat about what's on my mind, which usually helps me sleep. If no one's awake, I read for a bit. The problem with reading before I sleep is sometimes I find the book too interesting and it wakes me up more so I continue to read for the next few hours. :P
Usually either hop on the computer or watch a movie until I'm dead tired. Most of the time I don't lay down til I'm dead tired anyway, so I don't have this problem often.
If I'm tired, I'll fall asleep almost instantly. But if I'm not that tired, I pull out my ipod touch, and just surf the web until my eyes start to get heavy. Usually takes about 10 minutes of web surfing.
I hate when I can't sleep, because I tend to think about a lot of things when I can't sleep, which makes me just think about things more and I never get to sleep D: A good thing to do though is have something very sugary before bed, not like pop but something with a lot of sugar so like an hour or two after eating it you just crash.
