Cost doesn't bother me because I got mine for free. My problem with my iPod is how sometimes I have two songs by one person/band, but they are not listed together as same artist. It shows the same artist twice.

If you can't find more than 100 songs by artists that aren't sellouts you aren't looking.
I hate that they are so overrated and sell so well. I manage an electronics department at Target and I can tell you that their grip on the market is so tight that the majority of the people that I meet can't tell you the difference between an iPod and an MP3 player. They think it is some seperate thing from MP3 players and superior because of that fact.

Word, I see utterly no reason to put that kind of cash down when there are cheaper substitutes that are good quality. To me it seems like a trendy thing to have is a Ipod.. Specially the ones with the rediculous amounts of storage on, where a person doesn't even use a fraction of it.

Lack of a dedicated volume control, and that is pretty much it really. Of course, when I got mine, it was kind of right before there was a lot of good quality high capacity mp3 players on the market, so that sucks for me I guess.
Oh, the other thing I hate is that it doesn't store the music files with regular files names, but might-as-well-be-random jibberish instead. If I really want to nitpick, I could say that it doesn't play .ogg files (which unfortunately will probably never catch on at this point) or certain other file types without using third party firmware.
They don't look good. It's like they're only being marketed to girls with their color scheme. That, and they certainly aren't worth the money they want for them.
