He's done evil and all that,(Stalin is worse FYI)but If we'd set that aside first what do you think of the person? I think of him as a brilliant person that fell to his own insanity, and some people around him made it worse.

He's a fascinating character for sure. His speeches were always full of life and it's amazing how devoted his followers were in his rallies. What he did with that power was bad, though.
correct me If I am wrong also, but Afaik (from what I'm reading) Stalin was responsible for over 20-25 million most because of ordered killings (Political prisoners, enemies, etc.)solelyfrom what I read I hear the acutal order killing number is about 500k. Eh who knows, most people didn't know what Stalin did until Khrushev told his people.

No, that number is the total of deaths he caused, i believe. He ordered the deaths of around 500 thousand-1 million people(i think) and the rest were from starvation.
Some people argue that, since Hitler was responsible for WWII, he can be viewed as responsible for the 60-70 some odd million that died in WWII...
lol @ "mustache choice". :PI think he was a man who tarnished that name and mustache choice for all generations after him.

Good peacetime leader, terrible wartime leader.
Had the Nazis had a more competent man at the helm during the war they would have taken Europe (the UK and Russia included) easily.
He was a fascinating person. Very inteligent, had a brutal child life, and knew how to manipulate people. One of his quotes are one of my favorites, "The bigger the lie the more the people will believe in it." Plus, most people think he stirred up anti-semetism in Germany. Wrong, anti-semetism has been around in central Europe since the medieval times. Hitler just amplified it, and believe it not, anti-semetism is still in exsitence today in Germany.
Stalin pretty much caused Hitler to lose the war.
Very evil men.
For a man who went off to be a painter it's surprising what he got to.

Hitler made himself lose the war the day he overestimated the Russians and betrayed them.
he was a millionaire author who went against the will of Germany but who showed how to get rid of people, thereby warning you and me that it can be done and was done.

Well it's not that simple to blame solely Hitler for the WWII ignition. Let's don't forget the Ribbentrop-Molotov pact, according to which USSR troops crossed the west borders of Poland on 17th of September. That pact, signed on Stalin's behlaf accelerated start of WWII for 4 to 5 years. To Stalin's death count we should also have to add post war political murders in USSR satellite countries.

Oh i know. I didn't say that i agree with that view, it's just i've heard some people use that "fact" in those "stalin vs hitler arguments :P
A leader without people, is meaningless. The ideas were not so much Hitlers as of the people doing his bidding. He presented the ideas, the people accepted them. And he was a great presenter.
How is Stalin worse? Am I missing something? And he is an evil man, one of the few people who were on this planet who actually deserve to roast in hell. And I remember when a user here posted a topic saying how he's a swell guy. He's done evil and all that,(Stalin is worse FYI)but If we'd set that aside first what do you think of the person? A brilliant orator, nothing else. He was an awful human and not a great strategist either. He tapped into peoples fear and exploited them, so I suppose you can award him that skill also. He also had severe daddy issues which was root cause of many of his problems.
True but it's not like he gained that superpower through "acceptable means".He led a country out of the gutter as a superpower that could almost take on the whole world. And then he tried to along with killing anyone he didn't like, and his evil was his downfall.

correct me If I am wrong also, but Afaik (from what I'm reading) Stalin was responsible for over 20-25 million most because of ordered killings (Political prisoners, enemies, etc.)solelyHitler killed 6 million possibly many more. And indirectly caused the deaths of countless people. Pretty much everyone who died in WWII. And some of the things that Nazi's did to Jews are unspeakable. Like skinning people's heads, shoving a gun in a woman's vagina and pulling the trigger.
Pretty much this.. He could ve taken the world if he was a bit smarter tho.A great leader and orator with the wrong ideology.

He brought his country back from the dead and nearly took all of Europe. If he didn't lose the Battle of Britain or invaded Russia during the winter then all of Europe would probably be speaking German after WW2.
Sure, he was brillant but he was had the wrong idea.
How is Stalin worse?-Big_Red-
He killed his own people. The same was for Mao.
They essentially did the opposite of what Hitler did, instead, they cleansed their own people that lived under their corrupt rule. But let's face it, all three dictators were just as insane and nutty as any tyrant from the Middle Ages.

Nonetheless, he was very brutal and had some problems mentally.
