What do you think of people who smoke?

So.. anyways.. what do you think of people who smoke?And be nice about it if you can.. and believe me this is about as nice about it as I can be and I probably dont' sound too nice... we don't want to hurt anyones feelings.

I don't mind smokers as people and can appreciate that they have feelings and ideas too. Nut I really want nothing to do with them as they're smoking. SO, I don't really have many reletionships with smokers because whenever we start talking the first thing they want to do is light up.

I also think they're primarly concerned with the present and don't appreciate future circumstances. And appear only interested in momentary self satastifcation as compared to long term goals.

I do not agree with smoking and will never do it myself, but if others do it, that is their choice and issue to deal with.

I think that I have healthier lungs than them... That is all! :shock:

I think they are AWESOME !!!! They pay extra taxes that support all sorts of govt social programs AND they die earlier so they don't burden the social security and medicare system as much.

Without a doubt, smokers are some of the most civic minded people we have.

Doesn't really matter to me what they do with themselves...they may suffer with lung cancer one day and realize that all those commercials about quitting and such were true..they may die a natural death..who knows....but i find it rather selfish on their part if they smoke around non-smokers....

Well, I tend to avoid "smoking areas" in public places, and my relatives and father who smoke do so in areas away from non-smokers, so I never really have that problem.

I don't mind casual smokers but people who smoke all the time with no regard to the people around them piss me off. I myself smoke on occasions, I just never smoke cigarettes because they are nasty.

I don't like to generalize, since generalizing based on stereotypes tends to breed intolerance and ignorance, no matter the group being generalized.

One of my good friends is a smoker, but I personally don't like the (initial) smell of lighting up a cigarette. Most of the smokers I've met have been understanding of my opinion and are totally fine with it. They're no different than anyone else, and I respect their right to do what they wish.

I don't praise smoking, I only allow it. People text and drive on highways; their actions could negatively affect me. Does that mean I like being in the presence of a smoker? No. I usually don't hang around people who smoke. If I am in the presence of a smoker, I don't think a little second-hand smoke is going to affect me as much as they're affecting themselves.

We're all dying at some point, whether it be by cancer, a car accident, or too many greasy hamburgers.

Smokers are people too, and I base my judgments on their personal characteristics and not on their vices and choices. It's not my place to pass any judgment in the first place, so I just let them be.

I don't mind it in aquintances, but close friends I'd try to convince them to quit (none of my close friends smoke). Also, I'd never date anyone who smokes.
