It's all about Panic at the disco [QUOTE="Daavpuke"]I hate how the meaning of hardcore has changed since the overall takeover of emo. It actually started it's decline with modern day punkrock, but it's only when that evolution hit emo, that hardcore became affected. Now people actually believe that bands originating from emo have a correlation with hardcore. don't get me wrong, I like all sorts of music, even whiny bullcrap from Taking Back Sunday to incoherent bullcrap like Despised Icon. They just have nothing to do with Hardcore; and the thing that's called Metalcore these days are even worse. I remember back when they called it Emocore. but the kids started crying up a storm when emo became a pejorative word. Now Enter Shikari is considered *shudder* Metalcore. I'm sure Jamey Jasta is thrilled to be thrown in the same lot as them... same with Deathcore called Emoviolence Although in all fairness I too would be upset if I was called such a weird contradictory term. I even had a band that threatened to cancel their gig on me, because they didn't want to be stamped Emoviolence, but Deathcore on the flyer. They strangely enough didn't.. /end rant.

take back the hardcore!

Any albums that you would recommend over the others? I might pick one up.

The Vertigo of Bliss is the best album in my, and most people I know who likes them, opinion.

I think some of music where the vocals are screamed, barked, growled, or rasped show a plethora of passion and emotion that other music may not. Granted not all bands who utilized screaming exhibit this quality.

Lol dude, Avenged Sevenfold was only metalcore on thier first album, still one of my favorite bands though.

XxChicagoTedXx

I'm aware, I meant the metalcore they made. :P
I thought that at least some of Waking the Fallen could be considered metalcore too though...

You know what I really can't stand is all of these labels that give groups of people a sense of idiosyncrasy.

Metalcore and Deathcore are despicable. The only really tolerable bands I've listened to are Misery Index and The Red Chord but ironically enough all the things that make death/metalcore so bad are absent in those bands.
