I think it's great. I like the vanilla one the best. They have them for limited time.

Isn't that just Pepsi Throwback with new labeling? If so, I'd prefer that to the Pepsi made with high fructose corn syrup.

Though as much. Haven't tried the flavored ones yet--wasn't even aware of this at all, with me trying to drop a few pounds. Might have to stash some away once I do slim down a bit.

Aspartame is a terrible thing. Seriously recommend against diet pops. That shit will actually make you put on weight...

Anyways, the real sugar Pepsi is absolutely DELICIOUS! Was downing that stuff till I decided to cut my pop intake. Unfortunately with my stomach problems drinking pop was too much....

New? They been selling it for years. Just like imported Mexican Coke. I know Costco started carrying Mexican Coke for Passover, due to Jewish dietary restrictions allowing for Mexican Coke but not that nasty high-fructose corn syrup shit. Anyhow, it was popular beyond Passover, and they kept selling it, then soon after Pepsi did. I have to say I can tell though Pepsi changed their formula pretty quickly. Frankly I loved the first wave of sugarcane Pepsi, but I'm pretty sure they changed their formula up though, and I wasn't as impressed. Even at one point I remember Red Bull sold a sugarcane soda, wasn't that bad, reminded me sort of the first wave of pre-"Throwback" sugarcane Pepsi.

Haven't tried that one, but we have real sugar regular Pepsi in glass bottles here (including 7UP, Canada Dry, Coca-Cola, Sprite and a couple others) and it mops the floor with any pop that is made with glucose/fructose and comes in those taste altering plastic/aluminum cans.

If they continue to produce the product, it will become my new staple for pop.

i used to go out of my way to get mexican coke because of the sugar but now they just use corn syrup in the damn things when they saw people were buying them.

the ingredients label on mexican cokes now says "sugar or corn syrup".

No, it wont make you "put on weight". The only way you put on weight is that you get more calories than you use so it is hard for something with 0 calories (its not really 0, only zero calorie thing is water) to make you gain weight. Now there is the claim that it can make you crave more sweet thing but in the end, the soda itself isn't making you gain any weight.

maybe it is a regional thing.

in my area they began to put a sticker over the ingredients list a couple of years ago.

i miss them being available, the sugar coke recipe was far better than the normal one.

What's the difference between diet soda and zero soda? I read the label on both variants on several occasions and they seemed to have the same caloric content. This remains one of the most enigmatic mysteries haunting me to this day!

Nothing, but the flavor. The zero edition of diet coke was added because traditional soda didn't taste enough like regular soft drinks, but I grew up on traditional diet soda's and dislike the flavor of sugary soda.

Depends on how much. Definitely bad for daily consumption, but two or three times a month is fine..but this could be said for any pop.

TOPIC: I love throwbacks when it comes to pop. Just picked up a 12 of vanilla coke.

I've seen those in stores. I really enjoy them. I think pop taste best when it's from a glass bottle, especially with real sugar.

Interesting. I don;t buy that you can somehow "trick" your body into thinking that it will get sugar. Your body isn't that stupid. It isn't going to process something due to taste. But overconsumption in general I can see.

Well we are using aspartame to try and take the place of sugar so it makes sense that the body would take it as consuming sugar. Our bodies aren't exactly the smartest things in the world. There are plenty of problems people have that are the result of the body acting dumb and reacting to things in the worst way.

I know from experience that when I attempted to switch the diet pop I suddenly had low sugar drops that I had never dealt with prior. Thankfully I worked in healthcare so when I started feeling off I had the nurses test my blood sugar on a hunch. At one point my sugar had dipped all the way down to 44 (you can go into sugar shock at 40). Mind you I had just eaten right before I came into work, so this was only like 3 hours after having ate and my sugar was that low. Have not had any repeats since I switched back to regular pop.

I hate HFCS when I realize that the only reason it exists is because corn is government subsidized, and that even Mexico gets real sugar in their sodas. Mexico for crying out loud! Even worse that cows are fed corn as a result. So not only do our quality of life go down, so do the quality of life of animals. Nice job government.

I enjoyed Pepsi Throwback. Problem is I am a Coca cola drinker now all the way. But maybe I can find room for "Pepsi Real" in my life.

I think I'll stick with Coke Zero. Pepsi is good, but too sweet for my tastes. I like how they throw in there that it's "real sugar", as if it's better for you or something. A can a Pepsi with or without "real" sugar still packs in about 200 calories and 40g of sugar. Anyone that eats healthy will tell you this is a joke. Sugar in any form is still bad for you if not taken in moderation.

They don't put it on there because they're advertising it's better for you, they put it on there because people know sugar tastes better than high fructose corn syrup.

I admit there's a possibility that I got a bad batch, but, boy, what I've tried tastes like it was filtered through underwear that's fermented a while. Seriously, it was that bad. Pepsi says no one else has complained about the batch, so I have to think this is the way it's supposed to be. Blech. And I was one of those who, when Throwback first came out, would scout the stores and buy a ton of it, enough to last until the next limited release. Not any more. Pepsi has lost a long-tome fan.

Doesn't make a difference whether it's made with real sugar or high fructose corn syrup. It's just as bad for you.

I feel much better not drinking soda. I'm also having to work out less, which is always a plus.

Sugar Pepsi might become more popular since they're going to start making Mexican Coke with high fructose corn syrup.

Anyone gaining weight and drinking diet or zero soda is gaining weight by consuming more calories than they burn, pretty much all those calories will be from food. Basically over eating and lack of exercise is main cause of weight gain.

I lost 3 stone in 4 months a few years back, I drank a ton on pepsi max in the process.

Yeah I posted a link in this thread to a study that showed that diet drinks do in fact lead to weight gain, both directly and indirectly....

@LostProphetFLCL: indirectly I believe it could, directly I don't think so.

Pepsi max for example has 1 calorie per can, a can or two a day and not over eating will not = weight gain.

I went from 16 to just under 13 stone via low carb diet and I drank Pepsi max pretty much every day.

Pepsi max for example has 1 calorie per can, a can or two a day and not over eating will not = weight gain.

I went from 16 to just under 13 stone via low carb diet and I drank Pepsi max pretty much every day.

Okay this isn't about what you THINK though. It's about what was actually found in the scientific study.

New?!?!? What rock you just crawl out from under. This shit has been around for a few years now. Nothing new about it.

EDIT: Let me add that I don't drink soda at all.

@LostProphetFLCL: indirectly I believe it could, directly I don't think so.

Link - this article mentions the experiment, but also says its not conclusive and the Science just isn't there to back it up.

A drink that contains 1 Calorie per 330ml, (pepsi max) should not directly cause weight gain. Unless you drink over 2500 cans, that's over 825 litres of pepsi max

It might indirectly, for example it could increase you appetite, a possible side affect of the caffeine.
