I only drink Coca-Cola so I've never tried the new sugar pepsi. Coke is better anyways.

A drink that contains 1 Calorie per 330ml, (pepsi max) should not directly cause weight gain. Unless you drink over 2500 cans, that's over 825 litres of pepsi max

It might indirectly, for example it could increase you appetite, a possible side affect of the caffeine.

It promotes your body to make fat cells and it slows your metabolism down. That will cause weight gain.

Except for the studies I linked to, which your link did literally nothing to disprove.

Just sayin, saying "Eh I am not completely sure" does not actually dispute research. Not to mention your link that tries to prove the other study wrong literally uses the example of "people dieting lose weight!" The point is whether the person is dieting but what the difference is between people drinking regular pop and people drinking diet pop at the same rate...

No, it wont make you "put on weight". The only way you put on weight is that you get more calories than you use so it is hard for something with 0 calories (its not really 0, only zero calorie thing is water) to make you gain weight. Now there is the claim that it can make you crave more sweet thing but in the end, the soda itself isn't making you gain any weight.

The Article says you gain weight by your bodies response mechansism being thrown off by tasting something sweet, but not getting the calories, casusing people to overeat.

According to that you could gain weight, but its indirect the actual eating of the extra food is causing the weight gain. If you keep self control and monitor what you eat you wont gain weight.

I really don't like the shitty sweeteners they put in Coke these days. I used to buy boxes of canned Coke from Mexico that was made with real sugar and now they too went back to awful substitutes.

I might try this new Pepsi, though. Even if I don't like it I'm okay supporting real sugar in my drinks.

Promoting a soda with real, honest-to-goodness sugar is for nothing but taste and that's exactly why people would run to the club stores and buy cases of Mexican Coke or wait for those two or three months a year when Pepsi Throwback was produced. Sugar-Free is used to promote health. Many people aren't looking to cut calories when they drink soda because if they are (even with diet) they are better and tastier alternatives available.
