I think music will become more electronic and it will be a lot easier to make music because are standards will be lowered drastically. I hope rap is gone by then and I hope the blues/jazz,rock and metal stay around.

Why? NVM, I know the answer...

I don't really think there'll be much change to music at all. More styles will get popular, but every style (from hip-hop to death metal) will have an audience, so there will always be someone that makes it traditionally.

Well I really hope old traditional european music will still be around. Even if it is mixed with other genres, I'd still be fine.

All bands will need to use one of these in the future. If not, there is a severe punishment.

Because in my oppinion it will be over crowded with rappers who just cant rap for their lives. But the mainstream audience will still listen to them because they think their talented.

I think more genres will become popular, electronically produced music will become more popular as well. New genres will be invented, some genres will stagnate/wane and others will become more popular, but all the current genres will still have a fanbase.

You need to learn that you shouldn't boast your opinion about rap like that, or oppinion as you would say.

Well, I think it's going to stay in the present for a few years, I can't really say I know what's going to happen yet.

genres will continue to divide as each generation of performers looks for their own, unique sound.

major labels will adapt to the internet, or fade away. however, those same labels will continue to hand craft crappy pop music, like Girlicious, because aparently it sells.

soldier boy will fade away, but every year another awful awful rapper will take his place.

the Rolling Stones will tour until 2038, held together by duct type and a million dollar life support system.

and finally threads like these will continue to be made, because people believe the music they like is the only music that matters, therefore anything anyone else likes will eventually die, because it's obviously not very good.

Some new music is good. Not all though. But I agree, nothing tops the music of the yester years.

No form of music will ever die. Once it gets established and makes a fan base it'll just either grow or decrease in popularity but never completely die out.

Pushing boundaries? Excuse me, but isn't metal one of the more conservative styles of music? I know that there are some bands who are really great and innovative but the fanbase is generally stuck on "we want the old sound back" or calling the bands "sellouts"..

I could care less if the old sound comes back because I personally like the current generation of metal but as for the sellout thing, your only a sell out when you completely abandoned the reasons why you got into music in the first place and give up your style because it won't sell as much. There are plenty of great bands that have been around for a long time and haven't compromised they're musical beliefs or expression for any reasons. Thats just my opinion which doesn't need to be taken seriously.

Probably some very old genre of music will be revived and become a hit. It seems that happens at least once every decade.
