What does weed smell like?.

If you smelt weed on clothes would you no it. I have never smoked weed or done any drugs but in my local town every now and then when you walk past people I can smell this horrid Smokey smell almost like gone of perfume or spray. Today I was in a shop and this person stood next to me and again that same smell. I can smell it quite often when walking round town when random people pass. Today it was that strong I was nearly sick and had to walk off. I nearly asked him what that smell was but thought better just walk away as i didn't fancy getting beat up lol.

Weed doesn't tend to stick to clothes/walls as badly as tobacco
So they would have to have had a decent hot box going on

I've always found it funny when someone comes back from lunch at work and they absolutely reek but they don't know it.

It's probably cigarette smoke you're smelling. That stuff reeks. You wouldn't smell pot often just walking around. I live in Seattle and it's not often I smell pot in public. If you smelled weed - you likely wouldn't even have to ask.

If someone is smoking it, it smells like burning rubber. It's a pretty horrible smell.

It smells like burnt leaves and bit more stong.

Smells like a palm tree to me. I really dislike the smell, I used to live with a sort of hippy guy who used to smoke it in his room and the smell would travel to every room in the house

Good weed smells literally like a skunk's spray, but less intense. They actually share some of the same compounds that make up the smell.

As others mentioned, it doesn't stick to cloths well like cigarettes do though and it definitely doesn't have a smokey smell.

If you DO ever smell it, that means someone has been recently smoking it. It is a pretty pungent smell and it sticks out pretty bad.

I do know what it smells like, although I can't say I've ever smoked the stuff, and I don't really care for the smell. On the plus side second hand weed smoke doesn't give me an instant headache the way tobacco smoke does so there's that.

The weed available in your area must not be very good. There are people on the bus that I've smelled that have a sealed baggie in their pocket and it's like they are openly rolling a joint right in front of my nose.

And if someone is smoking it in their car and I'm on the sidewalk or have my window down, I can catch a very strong whiff of it as they pass by. I can't imagine the shit they have in Vancouver. That must be impossible to hide.

Tbh I never smelled weed before. Although, I can't tell you how many times I smelled cigs. That's a terrible smell. Like walking into a movie theatre and smelling that stuff, I have to hold my breath until I get passed that. Really sucks.

Yes you can smell weed on someone, but if you never been around it..its probably cigs.

Hell, even in a tight backpack with a hoodie stuffed in it... it's a pretty conspicuous smell.

Still, I quite like the smell, and I don't mind smelling it in my park or passing by on the street... but on a public train/bus or on the walk to my uni at 9am? No thanks...

Well, when you put it that way, you make it sound like you've never smelled the plant in your life. Also, a bus isn't "just walking around". That's sitting in a confined space next to other people. You could smell anything on a person in that case, including their BO. Pot, particularly outside, really doesn't smell much at all. Once again, you're probably been smelling cigarette smoke. In passing-by it's a vaguely similar smell.

BTW, Seattle's the place to live if you enjoy weed. Most people here smoke - you just won't often smell it on the streets, because weed isn't that strong smelling. Could just be one of those people that don't touch it yet smell it everywhere. Always get a kick out of those types of individuals. If weed actually smelled that much, people wouldn't do things like smoke and head right into work (or school). This might come as surprise to non-tokers but In Seattle that's a fairly common practice. It's common precisely because weed doesn't smell all that much, sans someone takes a hit and blows it in your face.

Sure, maybe some people get the occasional whiff of pot (once every few weeks). But an often, every-day thing? Maybe if you live on a pot farm.

It smell just as much in my opinion. Though perhaps a bit sweeter... I don't remember, it's not something I smell very often compared to regular cigarettes.

It defo not cig smell as said. I smell that every day when I go out for a walk. I always say to my self that's my 3rd cig of the day and I don't even smoke.

Somebody was openly smoking the stuff outside a pub/restaurant in Bellevue Square Mall when last I visited the place a few weeks ago. The smell was so pervasive that it was easily noticeable all over the indoor parking lot. I would have thought that smoking it publicly would be illegal. :-/

I don't no why people want to get high. I have been high once and hated every last minute of it. It was when I was in hospital when I had a kidney transplant and was on morphine. That's if you class as morphine as been high?. I did see things though like the door was the mirror. I saw a big reflection of my self in it and said to nurse what's that knowing it wasn't the mirror. Nurse said its door to toilet. I said so why can I see my self in it. lol.

Also I kept seeing big shadows at the bottom of my bed and walking pass the window. I also saw a big green monster behind the chair which freaked me out. :P

Usually smells like a skunk.

The flower itself may smell fruity depending on the strain but from my experience the initial smell is skunky. Do shatter instead.

Weed stinks so good. That's the best way to describe it. If stinky cheese were a plant (blue, Gorgonzola, etc), it'd be weed. You smell it and it really does smell a little skunky, and you're like "I shouldn't like this" but you can't get enough because it stinks sooooooooooo good.

It's actually gotten to the point where I don't mind driving past that dead skunk in the road lol.

But, if you are looking for actual descriptors, weed smells like: skunk, pine, tropical fruit, basil, pineapple, lemon zest, fresh-cut grass....that kind of thing. Ever smell hops, you know, the stuff that goes in beer? They're actually related to pot so that's a good idea of what pot smells like.

And yes, if you smoke some in a closed room, people would be able to smell it on you later.

That's not really the same as being high. You were heavily medicated because of your surgery. Dosages are a big part of why people want or don't want to be under the influence of certain drugs. If drinking alcohol was only about getting wasted, I probably wouldn't like drinking as much. I also assume part of your hallucinogenic experience had to do with your kidney transplant and not just the morphine.

At my local dispensaries I see little kids, elderly people, and people who simply can't form a sentence or sit still because they're dealing with certain illnesses and disorders. They use cannabis and they're instantly able to behave normally. It's not all about getting high. It's always strange to me how many people haven't just tried it for themselves. Nobody has ever died from it, and it's not physically addictive. There are maybe some slight withdrawals for a day or two if you've been using for awhile, but it's really nothing. It affects everyone differently like any other drug, except it's much safer than even caffeine.

Anyways, the smell varies. Cannabis can smell like cheese, citrus fruit, herbs, etc. Too many strains to just give a blanket statement on odor. Once it's burned, I personally think they all smell pretty similar and I love that smell, but I didn't like it until I became a regular user. I use because it motivates me to get stuff done, I can focus better, it helps me be more compassionate, introspective, and I think outside the box more. It also makes your body feel more sensitive so working out feels incredible because I can feel my muscles in a deeper way, this also applies to other physical activities, so you can use your imagination to understand what I'm talking about if you're an adult.

Hard to explain the smell.

My roommate in college smoked it in his room and made money off them. The whole house often reeked of it. I got so used to it where it doesn't bother me now.

Vancouverite reporting in. The thing is, people don't really hide it here. You do smell it a lot when in certain parts of town. Its pretty common to walk past a park and see someone just smoking a joint on a bench.

Stopped by the local Petco store a few weeks back, recently got a new dog and I was shopping for a few items. As I stood in an aisle browsing, this very hefty lady came strolling down all nonchalant and the smell was over powering. She smelled of really funky weed. The smell was very, very pungent

I've been around my older brother that likes to smoke and I've had a roommate and friends that smoked weed as well and I know exactly what it smells like....this powerful skunk smell was all around this lady, it just wafted off of her.

I wouldn't have said anything to her about and just walked away, but she had her 4 or 5 year old daughter with her....so the lady must have just finished smoking in the car or was carrying weed on her and that really irritated me.

I looked over at her and said, "You stink. You carry weed around with you or did you just finish a bowl? That's fucking gross to be doing that around your kid."

She looked mortified and didn't say anything back, she just kind of hung her head and walked her kid out of the aisle.

I really don't care if people smoke weed, but I don't like the fact they're clearly doing it around young children.
