October is great for a lot of reasons, but the highlight for me is Halloween. All Hallows' Eve is creeping around the corner, which is awesome. Costume parties, candy, and of course the awesome spooky things that tend to come up during this time of the month. But my favorite way to get into the spirit of Halloween, binge-watching some Halloween classics:

Coraline

Shaun of the Dead

Corpse Bride

Rocky Horror Picture Show

Beetlejuice

Ghost Busters

Frankenwinie

Cabin in the Woods

Adams Family

and of course....

Hocus Pocus

What's on your list of spooky, Halloween-type things to watch this time of year?

Walking Dead always lets me know it's October.

In terms of movies, I consider all these to be the perfect Halloween movies:

Trick R' Treat (THE Halloween movie!)

Ev Dead 2

Ginger Snaps 1 and 2

Cabin in the Woods

The Conjuring

Sinister

Insidious

Any other good horror kovie will do.

The Walking Dead, Dawn of the Dead, 28 Weeks Later, The Possession of Emily Rose, The Exorcist, and of course the Halloween movies.

Usually anything horror related whether it's something classic, animated, or anime. I know this doesn't count but I also read scary stories online and by scary I mean not reading creepypastas.

Not a horror film fan at all. I'm too scared to watch them :P

But if I had to pick one, it would probably be Alien.

@crimsonbrute: I don't watch the TV show, but I do read the comics and I have just watched the trailer for the new season and it seems loosely based on the original material. If they stick with it, let me deal you. Your in for a treat (and a lot of new characters). :)

They've taken liberties on the TV show though they try to go into the comics more. I wouldn't know what exactly they've done since I don't read the comics.

I'm glad someone likes it besides me. I enjoy watching all the work they put into it.

Nightmare before Christmas.
The Great Pumpkin. Treehouse of Horror (both of these are on tonight)
Paranorman.
Legend of Sleepy Hollow (Disney version)
Night on Bald Mountain (from Fantasia - scared the heck out of me as a kid!)

I watch horror, slasher, giallo, creature-features and the like fairly regularly as it is, so usually I just enjoy the fact that various movie channels program more horror than normal and throw in a few favorites such as 'The Haunting' (1963), 'I Walked with a Zombie', 'Zombi 2', n' such. This year I decided to make it a point to watch a new (for me) horror film a day just for the sake of it...though admittedly with my regular viewing schedule being so heavy as it is, it's not exactly a task that requires much effort on my part.
