i love family guy, but i hate how some shows try so hard to copy it and fail. Its Seth McFarlines humour stye so he's very good at it (still love the bill clinton episode "hey, we can totally eat that pig":lol:) i have yet seen anyshow that can sucessfully copy family guy.

i miss them so much i had to stay at a friends house in the morning like 2 years ago cause they had to go somewhere and they wanted me not to be alone so my friend has two brothers one was 11 and the other was like 8 and they watched cartoon network and disney channel all morning it was sooooo bad i like really wished i could go with my parents :cry:
Two things happened to cartoons: 1. Pokemon and the Japanese influence it created in all cartoons. Tons of cartoons would follow that were either subservient to that faux-anime style or, worse still, were just extended marketing programs for a new line of toys or collectables (Yugi-oh, Beyblade, Card Captors, Monster Rancher, etc etc etc) 2. Lizzie Mcguire, which created a huge number of live-action sitcoms for kids that just reduced the number of cartoons.
I'm 24 and I still enjoy watching cartoons. You're left with the option of watching classics because everything else is complete trash as far as western production is going. I haven't seen an awesome animated show out of American production companies since I was a child, Rocko, Ren & Stempy. Everything I try to watch today is so lame and usually not even funny. The Fairly Odd Parents was the last thing that came on television that entertained me at all. It's a real bummer that the animation and artwork is made as low budget as possible. You can always watch Anime, their production companies take pride in quality. That's why most of their shows are only 1 season, 1 season of pure excellence.
If you like Family Guy and South Park they are both going strong and still funny. Family Guy kind of got a little lame for a few seasons but season 8 has been hilarious. South Park seems to get funnier as the series trucks along.
I don't think growing up has anything to do with a lot of it. I can still watch Ren & Stempy and Rockos Modern Life and find it absolutely hilarious and morbid.
