Scientific tests have shown that a week of 6 or less hours sleep a night can lead to the same effect on the brain as 8 beers.
So to get drunk on the cheap I just watch TV all night...
Well if you are deprived for long enough than you eventually go mad, even die. You can actually die quicker from lack of sleep than lack of water.
At guantanamo Bay they torture people by letting them sleep and waking them up ever 45 minutes or so. That way they can't get inot REM sleep and the sleep doesn't provide them with any rest relaxation. Pretty inhumane sh!t

Read a little on the torture segment
The study mentioned is called the flower pot study. Basically, a mouse was put in a pot. It was full of water, and there was a little buoy in the center. The mouse could swim for a bit, but he needed to sleep after a while, so he would have to climp to the buoy. When he held on to it he would relax his muscles and fall asleep. When he fell aslpee though he fell of the buoy and started to drown, waking him up. Eventually, after not being able to swim any longer, it would just drown and die.

If you mean by "normal" sleep deprived, more often than not, I am my most silliest, to where almost everything, to me, is amusing or funny.
Beyond that, at times, I also will be unusually hungry, to the point where even after I eat meal, my satisfaction (or lack thereof), goes away lot quicker than it normally would.
During the school year I'm pretty sleep deprived, usually around 5-6 hours per night. It's not a good thing to do.stormtrooper32teh i jus graduated but i ran on 2-none!:)

you can't die from lack of sleep. there is a point where you body will put you to slee, your brain will slow your heart and breathing enough that you HAVE to go to sleep, and nothing can wake you up or keep you awake. Its the bodies own defense system. I saw that on discovery channel once!

A man went 18 days and 21 hours without sleep. Why is he not dead?

There you go. And that person was able to stay awake because he had been TRAINING to do so for a very long time, much like what David Blaine is doing. Would you like to prove ME wrong now instead of providing one example without any sources whatsoever?

But that means the mouse died from drowning not lack of sleep, it was just made tired from the lack of sleep, so unless you happen to go to bed in a roomfull of water then your fine. (that also explains the reason for not being allowed to rest when you're in the water on Morrowind)
And yes, I know there are other reasons really for not letting you sleep in water on Morrowind :)
Me? for some strange reason i become very happy and giggly. at gradnite at disneyland at about 3:00am my friend mention the word uterus and i laughed literally until i almost passed out and people were staring at me like i was crazy. How do you react?vickersfan
