I am a teenager (15 years old) but I swear it seems like I'm surrounded my morons sometimes! What really annoys me is that most teenagers at my school seem to jump on every bandwagon yet the claim to be special or different from everyone else. I mean like when Obama was running for office everyone was yelling "OBAMA!" down the halls and they had pins and pens etc. etc. yet about 95% of those people knew nothing at all about Obama's policies! they did not know anything he spoke about yet they all praised him because he was the popular vote. Another example: Recently a police cop shot and killed a drunk man at the bart (train) station. Everyone was in uproar at my school and these people were all ready to protest and were furious yet the video clearly shows that the police might have accidentally shot the man! Is it because the police was a form of authority and they wanted to rebel or something? Seriously these people are MORONS!!!! I hope it gets better as I get older...idk...does anyone know what I am talking about?

If you're going to generalize them, you have to do it to yourself.

I get a little tired of dealing with a lot of my peers as well, but I've learned to just kind of ignore them.

Not all teenagers are like that, but yes, there are a good number of teens that attempt to "fit in" to whatever, instead of just being themselves.

Well that's silly. When I go to a friend's house sometimes, he will text someone else, while we are in the middle of playing a freakin' video game!

Sometimes I feel embarressed being a teenager myself. >_>

I saw a comic strip once that went something like this: *Two girls are sitting next to each other texting. Another girl walks into the room.* Other girl: You're sitting right next to each other, why don't you just talk?! Texting girl 1: Well, we can text faster than we can talk so we can carry out a thirty minute converation in twenty minutes. Other girl: What do you do with the extra ten minutes Texting girl 2: Mostly just soak our thumbs in cold water...

It's not just teenagers.

They get pretty stupid in college too.

Actually, it's pretty much everyone.

So as far as avoiding the mass of morons, you're basically screwed.

Yes when you are in school you come to the realization that everyone around you is a bunch of morons.

When you get to college everyone around you are idiots.

When you get a job you will find that all your co-workers are stupid.

Maybe its just because everyone I work with, with the exception of one, are like 10 to 20 years older then me and when they have a computer issue they come to me. "I can't find the printer to print to" they say "Uh yeah thats because you have to SCROLL DOWN THE LIST!!!" I yell.

It wasn't just teens who hopped on the Obama bandwagon and didnt know any of his policies. I've seen tons of street interviews of people who disagreed with a lot of his policies(not knowing they were his) and they still voted for him. the 08 election was a joke.

Often times, they don't really grow up mentally with age, then again I'm only 18 and the people I know could still possibly mature.

However, I doubt that.

Once a moron, always a moron.

Just make sure you don't blend in with them haha.

You're intellectuality will get you far considering you're so young.

I agree on the Obama part. I didn't support him, though I don't have any personal problem with the people that did, but I know so many people, idiots really, adults included who just jumped on the Obama bandwagon for the hell of it, and are now pissed at what he's done so far. As far as I'm concerned, if you voted him into office, then shut the hell up, you have no right to complain your ass off about it.

As for that cop accidently shooting a drunk man, accident or not, that's uproar worthy.

I've read the shooting story from credible sources and nowhere did they say the man was drunk and he sure wasn't acting drunk in the video of him being shot, he was calm and cooperative. So I want the TC to give me the link to him being drunk.

Well, in a teenage environment, many people just follow the crowd in order to not look different, or really just voice out their opinions because everyone else is doing it. While I was a "teenager" ( I'm now 18 ), many of this stuff came up a lot. I just learned to deal with that sorta stupidity. Everyone followed everyone, and no one had a different mindset. College, man, that is a whole different story. Mob mentality at its finest, especially when it came to the Obama elections. Many people wanted Obama. I can go on and on, but... I'd rather read this thread.

Unfortunately your faulty assumption (or futile hope) is that people stop acting like they know about crap that they actually know nothing about when they are adults. :P

Omg I so hate teenagers, my girlfriend is one and I kept trying to make her grow faster! I'm like, Grow up! I grab her face and pull on her cheeks to try and force her skin to grow! But then she grew up fast when her mother died and her dad started to abuse her. Ah trauma, one way to change the nature of any man/woman. But then her girlfriends get hold of her again and she turns back into this typical Myspace whore type 16 year old, taking those up-angle photo shots of her in all her Emo girl clothes and taking lesbian kissing shots with her best friend and posting it on her page. Then at least once a week she picks up a random grudge against a family member or acouncilor because they've done something terrible to upset her, and then I hear all this "Run away together" stuff and "I just want to end it all".

"Sigh" why do I love the crazy ones.

I'll be honest I think the only reason why most teenagers like Obama is because he was black. If it was John Kerry or Berry Manilow I highly doubt that teenagers would be chanting MANILOW down the halls. They do it at my school too and it pisses me off. As an Obama supporter I don't know what to say to these people. They don't know anything about his policies or what he is. I've been a fan of his for a long time. I read both books before he announced his bid and I wanted him to win from the start. I hate bandwagon jumpers and high school kids are typically the type to do this.

Yea I heard about him way back in 2004 when he won the Senate. I was in 7th grade and one of my teachers wouldn't stop talking about him, but I really didn't give a **** and still don't, I can't vote so why bother. But Ron Paul seemed crazy enough to get something done.

If Obama hadn't won the primary I would have just gone back to being a Ralph Nader supporter

At that stage, it's normal to want to feel like one belongs to a certain group.

That's what I don't like about some teenagers (not all of them are like that), they're trend-following sheep.

I can tell you from my own experience: There will always be people like this. It may get better the older you get, but it never disappears. Just ignore them, knowing you're better. :D

I'm uncertain as to what's wrong about being furious at a police officer who accidentally shot a man when this sort of action had appeared to be unwarranted.

It's not just teenagers. My college dorm is also full of morons. Of course, I got stuck in the "party" dorm, so that's probably got something to do with it.

I know exactly what you mean, kids would do the same at my school. The thing that annoys me the most thought is when all the black kids act like they are ghetto, I am not saying all them do but all of them do, they think they are so gangster and it pisses me off. No way can anyone be ghetto when they live in Naperville, a very rich city. It annoys me and I wish I could tell them to shut the hell up, but I can't. It's amazing how loud and obnoxious some people can be.
