What if Germany had won World War 2?

I doubt the Germans would have been able to hold onto everything they occupied during the war. Their goal was basically to reorganize the European balance of power under an association of fascist states with a German superstate at the top of the hierarchy. So if they had knocked the Britons and Soviets out of the war, they probably would have accepted peace terms from Britain recognizing Germany's control over Poland and the rest of Eastern Europe and then left them alone. They would have directly annexed most of Eastern Europe, and broken up the Soviet Union between its constituent republics; The Baltic States, Ukraine, etc, and reduced Russia to the borders of the old medieval Muscovite kingdom. They would have given the Vichy government control of all of France and its colonies, and would have headed an alliance with them, as well as with fascist Italy, Hungary, and Romania. They certainly would have formalized an alliance with Spain as well, and possibly Portugal too. With their collapse, the British would probably lose their mandate over Palestine, Egypt and Iraq and those rulers would probably align with the fascists as well, as certainly would the Syrians (of which Lebanon was a part at that time), being under French administration. Hard to say what would happen to India, but without British protection it would be awfully exposed to the Japanese. Italy would retain control of Libya and Abyssinia (Ethiopia), and would likely control most of the Balkans as well. Greece would likely be an independent fascist-aligned state. The Turkish Kemalists would likely go fascist as well, attempting to regain territory in the Caucasus that they had coveted since the Ottoman days as the Soviet Union retreated from the region. They would split up access to Caucasian resources with the Germans. fidosim

I was thinking more BMW :P

They would have had a hold on europe and britian. I don't think they would be just satisfied with that and would have possibly attempted to invade north america.

1) There would be less organized crime around the world.

I'm not defending Hitler at all, I don't care for him.

The world's social classes would be largely influenced by race. BTW the only reason they started killing the Jews and such directly were because resources and space were running low, if the Germans had won the war they'd probably be working at a place like Foxconn.

EDIT: Also there would be a lot less single mums. Also a lot less obesity due to the better food (all women got cooking classes) and the exercise from the youth movement and better education (for guys atleast).

There would probably be a lot less trouble in the middle east too as Israel wouldn't exist and there would be a very large military force based there to protect the oil reserves which would keep most people in check. I doubt there would be any real race issues there either as all the Arabians would be viewed equally by the occupying forces.

It would be more efficient but not as interesting. Pretty keen on everyone getting BMWs though.cheese_game619

The people that were still alive after the ethnic cleansing would have kids and those of us alive would all be German speaking Nazis. People that think we'd just be modern German type people are fooling themselves. We might be a bit more progressive, but when governments achieve that level of power and control, they're not going to just let it go with a fight.

Deathride: Hitler vs. Stalin - The Eastern Front, 1941-1945 has a different take on what might have happened and the fact that Germany was close to winning in Russia. Stalin hadmade some inquiries as to surrendering.

One has to remember that the purges under Stalin decapitated the Red Army's upper leadership as Stalin was worried they would try to overthrow him. That left an army with no leadership withexperience in combat. All he could do was throw men at the Germans, which actually shocked the Germans with the numbers of men who needlessly died on the Russian side.

One other thing to remember is for Hitler the war was an economic war and not just a land grab. He always said it was about resources and that is borne out by the shift south towards the Caucasus Mountains and the like.

Also, as Hitler didn't have the proper watercraft to invade England (amphibious assault vehicles), he would have had an even more difficult time trying to invade the US.

I don't think too much would be different. It's not like we would be living in a world where every nation was flying the Nazi flag and saying "Heil Hitler Likely what would have happened is that the Nazi system would have began to decay as it was only ever powerful while it was a war economy, A system that cannot be sustained indefinitely. Regardless the Germans never have the capability of holding onto all of Europe let alone all the other allied nations, Especially when their occupation would have been very unpopular.

Communism managed to take over much of Europe after WW2 and the world didn't suffer catastrophically from Stalin's power. Without knowing how nuclear weapons may have been used it would likely have turned into a Cold War stand-off until the German people called for Democratic change.
