I've had several conversations about this actually. The conclusion would be Pokemon IRL would not be as appealing as it seems in the cartoon. For one, they would look quite ugly at times...not to mention intimidating. Plus, do you really think Pokemon would act the same IRL like they do in the cartoon? Would they really listen to some kid named Ash? And who would this Ash be, anyway? We don't want some huge Pokemon entity destroying the earth. Let's make sure we can actually stop them somehow. With that being said, think about how things such as street crime would be affected. You have to admit the people in the anime are a lot kinder and understanding than real people are. And jobs. Jobs would change. People would be using Pokemon to help them in their jobs. Which could be good or bad. It depends. Basically I'm just glad it's a wierd thought and not reality.

I really love Pokemon and thought it'd be awesome if they were real. But after reading this, I agree with you on a lot of things. And now I'm having second thoughts. Some of them would make cute pets though! No fighting neccesary.
