Lack of success from lessons occurs because of two things - incompetent teaching and unmotivated students. If either of those conditions is fulfilled, the student will not advance. In the highlighted case, it sounds like the teachers are incompetent, and as such, you are indeed wasting $70/month. Teachers that do nothing but read instructions from a book aren't worth the money, though I want to be very clear about this - reading from the book is NOT the same thing as directing study through a book, which is a highly successful pedagogical strategy for beginners. The book is a supplement, not a replacement for instruction. But bear in mind that it is equally likely that the students themselves are the problem, and that their failure to work is causing their slow progress. Please Log In to post.
