What is an acceptable grade for you?

Last week my class got back our midterms and I was happy to receive an A. I would have been content with a B. Several people in my groups got Cs and they were glad they passed. So my question is, what grade do you shoot for in school? What grade are you satisfied with? Do you think you could do better if you tried harder?

Shoot for an A, usually get a B and am satisfied. I'm alright with a C. D and F is kind of a failure

I always aim for an A but I usually get Bs.

C and up.

Well I aim for A's, since B's make you "average" in my household :roll: :P

I don't cry if I get lower than that though. Especially if I didn't study.....

Generally, as long as I passed, I was happy. I almost always got As and Bs though anyway.

I was incredibly pissed when I learnt I only came second in biology and third in advanced English. Don't even start me on the fact I came thirty-sixth in maths.

i try to get A's or at least high B's but if it is a hard class/test etc i can be satisfied with a C.

Australia, but I'm pretty sure the ranking system only applies to high school seniors.

this, 100 times this. I coasted through HS with 90's now in Uni (1st year) I am barely scrapping by in pretty much all my courses.

A's in undergrad. Graduate school GPA doesn't matter as much, so I try more to get a B since the classes are a lot harder.

I just do what I can. I dont stress out over school. Itsnot worth it. I get a mix of a's and b's, with some C's on occasion. Like this semester is going as follows:

European art Music: C

Studio Voice: B

haha ya I know what you mean, it's also funny how in HS I had 90's in Chem 30 (12) and Math 31 (calculus) but now those are my two worst courses. (don't even ask what I'm getting) I have 80 in computing science and I have never even heard of code before the semester lol

They limit the amount of students that get 80+ anyways, as if it wasn't hard enough already.

Depends on the course. For the core courses I took in college, like the physics and calculus sequences, anything less than an A is a failure to me. That material is far too easy to not get an A. For the harder engineering courses I've taken (like say, "Fluid Dynamics and Thermodynamics of Turbomachinery"), a B isn't so bad.Dark__Link
