People who blame -insert name- while trying not to fix the problem, greed, the lack of actually increasing minimum wage to match today's cost of living, crappy education system, I can go on and on but I need my coffee.

Minimum wage is not meant to be a liveable wage. One needs training, experience and certification to make a liveable wage.

You're part of the problem in America.

We're at a point when we need people to work those "minimal" wage jobs cause those college jobs hire few people at a time (not only do majority of college grads get into debt, they aren't even guaranteed a job) and with our spurt in population growth we're at a point we can't divide pay wages by such a wide margin anymore when the cost of living has been on a rise. In fact people in the 1950s were making more money than the avg person makes now.

We have been at a all time high in jobless people and homeless, we're literally turning into a 3rd world country at a slow pace cause people like you are like "I work hard so I should get paid more" chances are the majority of people who say that didn't bust there ass to get where they are. I've worked 80 hour weeks on a $16 an hour job, I know what it's like to bust my ass at a job.

Too bad I'm Canadian.

The problem doesn't stem from the lack of wage increases, it comes from a lack of jobs. Too much has been outsourced. There isn't enough work to be done for citizens, and those corporations with the outsourced labour can undercut those with local labour, putting them out of business.

The problem is not the wage people are getting, it's the market driving the lack of need for an increase. Artificially increasing what people make will only increase the cost of goods, creating an endless cycle of increase, leading to collapse.

Most jobs are those "minimal wage" jobs, but guess what, people can't live on minimal wage. Also if you're Canadian, why the **** are you even trying to discuss our problems in America?

I can have an opinion on world issues, but I can't discuss problems in America?

Raising the minimum wage will only cause the things that people have a hard time affording currently to go up in price, making them demand even higher wages, thus creating an endless cycle of increase.

It's not the answer to the problem.

@foxhound_fox: You do realize that the price of living has been going up regardless and at the point it's at right now it's creating more harm than good. Also people have been doing studies on raising the minimum wage and their results have shown the opposite of what you're even trying to spew out. There's a reason why Seattle is pushing for a $15 minimum wage, also here's some studies/articles to shut up those dumbasses who think it's gonna hurt businesses.

And when the corporations pass the costs of raising the wage up to the consumer? What then?

Then people will buy less or buy stuff from people offering it for cheaper.

Then how are people on minimum wage supposed to live? It sounds like you want them to die.

Haha, good one.

A minimum wage job is a stepping stone to greater skills training and more money. People shouldn't expect to sit at an entry level position for the rest of their lives and continue to make more and more money.

And if they are unable or unwilling to get a better job, then what? Should they die?

You don't seem to understand that we don't live in a magical wonderland where everyone is able to get a great job. Many people will be stuck either unemployed or in low pay jobs for the rest of their lives.

If they're unwilling to better themselves, then yes, they do deserve to die.

The most? The federal government.

The federal government was never intended to be as big as it is today. That's our biggest problem.

With the increase in U.S. popuation, it makes sense that the gov't would proportionally expand.

Proportionally is the key word.

I'm talking about the way we've become impersonal, treat other like shit, everybody wants handouts and a lot of entitlement issues.

The Great Depression says you are wrong. Take a few courses in business, higher costs are passed onto the consumer.

Considering people where making more in the 1950's (after the depression) than people now, that's pretty sad. Also if we were raising the minimum wage with inflation rate, minimum wage would be $10 across the board instead of the $7.50 or w/e it's at now.

You wanna know why majority of Americans are in debt, cause we spend money we don't have and or we spend more than we make.

@toast_burner: Buying less or Buying cheaper items is also lending to collapse.

This walmart mentality is going to ruin the world. 90% of the time the consumer is the only loser for buying the cheaper version of a product. Buy your cheap, Chinese built shit. Watch it break a week later, buy it again. By the end of the year you've purchased so many cheap products you would have been better off buying the more expensive product once.

Everyone is just so damn entitled these days. Everyone thinks they deserve something for nothing. In most cases they actually believe they deserve to be rewarded for getting something for nothing. For example I used to work in electronics retail. Electronics have no markup. They rely on sheer volume for profit. An industry with an average 10% margin is doomed to failure. Yet, even after showing people cost on an item they still figured they deserved to, not only pay less than cost, but be rewarded with free shit on top of it.

That and people go into debt for a playstation before they go into debt to put food on their table. It's not that wages need to increase(they still do), it's that people need to learn to live within their means. If you want to coast on a minimum wage job your entire life, don't expect that you deserve to buy a brand new car. It doesn't work that way.

If you ask me, everyone is to blame. Entitled consumers, entitled corporations.

what on earth are you talking about? Nothing you said had any connection to what I said.

Where did I mention buying low quality stuff from China? I said buy the same stuff just for less, less meaning the same price now just without the non-existent price increase foxhound mentioned.

Companies don't hire people for the sake of hiring people. Giving a company more money doesn't mean they will hire more people, and it certainly doesn't mean they will lower their prices. It's called supply and demand. If only 100 people visit your shop a day and each cashier can assist 10 customers a day, then there would be no need to hire any more people even if you have loads of money. If you're profits are lower than they used to be it still wouldn't make any sense to fire anyone because staff are hired in order to make a profit, less staff equals less profit. If a staff member costs more to keep than they are bringing in that's a different story, normally it's a result to change of market since they were hired or just bad management.

The job creator argument is nothing more than a myth.

@toast_burner: you mean cheaper Chinese built products? Companies are gonna get their profits one way or other. If they can't get it by building it here due to higher taxes, higher wages, stricter EPA and other regulations they will go just over seas like they have been.

Pretty soon we will other either have a college required job or service/retail job. There will be no middle ground.

Oh I believe it's the far right and far left. Having a left and right view is good because no one person is ever 100% right and it helps getting both views and compromises. Having a far left and a far right that refuse to move or compromise results in nothing getting done.

@toast_burner: the problem with what you are saying is that the same item for less money isn't what people(general population) shop for. Again, the walmart mentality. People shop for the best price, instead of shopping for the best value.

Show a person a nice Makita power tool(say $200ish). Then show them a walmart PowerBuilt pos(say $50) and guess which one they will buy? The $50 tool 90% of the time. In the consumers mind they are buying the same product but getting a great price.

This is how the general population shops. That is what I am talking about. These cheap built shit products undercut quality products so heavily the companies behind the quality products are forced to reduce staff. Pick any industry you want, every single one of them is watching their bottom line tank based off cheap shit products taking their place.

The funny thing is the power built drill will break the second or third time you use it. And guess what this stupid customer does? They buy another one. And another and another.

And guess what this retard customer does? They buy another one. And another and another.

Which has nothing to do with what I said.

its not really us blaming them, its the truth. rich people set the system up, they give us our jobs, pay our wages, set the prices for our goods, basically telling us how to live. unless you get lucky and manage to be great in something that makes you alot of money.

Minimum wage is not meant to be a liveable wage. One needs training, experience and certification to make a liveable wage.

and how are you suppose to get that training if you cant go to school because you have to work 2 jobs just to pay your fucking rent?

@foxhound_fox: You do realize that the price of living has been going up regardless and at the point it's at right now it's creating more harm than good. Also people have been doing studies on raising the minimum wage and their results have shown the opposite of what you're even trying to spew out. There's a reason why Seattle is pushing for a $15 minimum wage, also here's some studies/articles to shut up those dumbasses who think it's gonna hurt businesses.

http://www.raisetheminimumwage.com/pages/job-loss

http://seattletimes.com/html/localnews/2023116005_wageimpactsxml.html

And when the corporations pass the costs of raising the wage up to the consumer? What then?

you are totally ignoring what he is saying. they are increasing prices anyway. so the question beg ans why isn't minimum wage going up with inflation? why? so the rich stay rich and the poor stay poor.

Work more. I've done 120 hour weeks.

If they work 70 hour weeks they can still go to school, they just have to sacrifice free time.

@MakeMeaSammitch: how do u do 120 hour weeks? That only leaves like 6 hours a day for sleep and that's doing nothing else. What about household chores? Food? Anything? I sometimes work 84 hour weeks and it leaves me with little time but get dinner ready and sleep.

@BlackGenjii: Globalist elites continue their efforts using Asymmetrical warfare.

Science/Education- Narrative limited, funding is given by elites who own big pharma. Schools continue teaching lies about the world and continue the governments narrative.

Social- With the borders wide open thousands of south America are being bought into American cities by bus given money and passports creating racial division to bring in martial law and a further escalation of the police state

Media- Owned by a select group of people who oppress their global agenda onto the citizens that watch it.

Politics- Republicans and Democrats all follow the same leaders, they are just puppets who win a popularity contest giving the false image of democracy

Economy- Deepening wealth gap, destruction of the middle class into just 2 classes Elites and the poor. The federal reserve needs to be abolished established in 1913 it has too much control over government.

If you aren't willing to work to improve yourself, then you're not going to improve.

It's like you want these people to just get hand outs.

They can get themselves out of what they're in now, it just takes work. Key word being work.

yup during the best years of your life and then you look back at your life, you got what you wanted but at what cost? you put in all this hard work when you could have been living life instead. now you wish you hadn't worked so hard and had more fun but it's too late now cause you're to old. "you have bettered yourself, you are in a better place now."

Every country has their problems. But I don't think anything is "destroying" America to the point where the country as a whole is endangered.
