Nah, it was an ex-girlfriend's dad's car. He took me for a ride down a 6-8 mile straight back road to turn the car loose and show me what that kind of speed felt like

With me driving: 130 mph (209.21 km/h) (2000 toyota camry)
With someone else driving their car: 160 mph (257.50 km/h) (2004 ford mustang cobra)
I actually can't believe the stupidity of a lot the people in this thread.
Not to mention half of you are probably lying. Why even risk getting arrested though? Is it really worth it to go fast? The fastest I've gone is 80 on the freeway.

By West, I meant the West side of the country. How fast is fast enough to be lying? It really isn't hard to go 100. I've gone 95 in a really nice Cadillac without even realizing I was above 80.I actually can't believe the stupidity of a lot the people in this thread.

You know what's funny... the guy i said i was with going 160 in his mustang cobra.. literally 2 weeks after i went that fast, he got arrested for street racing going 155.

That's the mark of a finely tuned machine. When you look at the speedometer and realize you are going way faster than it feels like.

Why does that matter? I live in Texas.. (not exactly west).. and ive seen at least 15 vipers on the road, about 7 ferraris, 2 lambo's, 4 lotus', a million corvettes, and more.

Well, not the East, was my point. There are too many people, too many cops, and too many turny roads to get to 180 easily.[QUOTE="WildLIkeChild"]How fast is fast enough to be lying? Most people saying over 130 are most likely lying.
That or they're incredibly stupid, and I'll be happy when they get arrested.
Definitely. Gotta love sweet rides. That's the mark of a finely tuned machine. When you look at the speedometer and realize you are going way faster than it feels like.

Not really... you would be suprised.
A lot of my friends are big into street racing and all that, so maybe thats why.
It's not hard to find a pretty empty straightaway around here after midnight. You just gotta know the spots. You eventually find out where the cops like to hang out, where they like to speed trap, etc. You wait till later at night (past midnight), and wait till there is no traffic. If there is traffic, you slow up and wait for them to clear out.

So everyone in the world are perfect, law abiding citizens who never speed. And people who spend $90,000 on a car drive it below 80 at all times so as not to be arrested....

And it's not like people can't pay $20 to go to their local track and race their cars there...

In my case, the nearest track was over 40 minutes (city driving) away. No way were we going to do that so we just took the car to a back road. It was barely residential. Its pretty much accepted that the place is for speed.
145 mph in my friends acura integra, we race it at like 3am :)fear2maxIf that's present tense.. you should stop. People can and do die from racing. It might not even be you who dies :?
