well see...the broadsword actually usually wasn't very sharp, nor very good at cutting things. It was just huge and heavy, so half the time it was a bludgeoning instrument. If you were on horseback or whatever and swung at another guy's neck, you'd have a better chance of breaking his neck than cutting his head off.Paladin_King
fun fact: the broadsword has the same weight that a katana does, that's 1.1 to 1.4 kg
