I have had a few.I'm only going to say one in particular. My worst one. BRACE FOR SCENARIO.
So here I am, gym class of my Junior year. My school system has implemented this new "workout plan" for the students in gym class in my school. What it is, is we play some music while working out at various stations, all using either a jump rope, or these...
So we're doing various stretches, focusing on main muscles in our body. Arms, legs, back, etc. Here I am at the back station. We have wrap the band around our feet, and lean back as far as we can, holding onto the handles, in order to stretch our backs and legs.
So I'm working out. I chose one of the ones with the highest tension. Mind you, I am not athletic. I am not trained to use this crap, and our teacher did not give many forewarnings. That day, I was wearing my skate shoes (in case you don't know, skate shoes have flat soles).I'm leaning back, and for some reason, I raised my foot with the elastic band on it, in the slightest fashion possible.
The band slips off my foot, and slams me in both my eyes. It must have been going 100 mph. Possibly more. It is the most painful thing I have ever felt to this day. I keeled over, holding my face, trying to make sure my eyes were still intact, screaming "Call the nurse!"I ended the day, after 9 hours in different ERs, eye doctors, with a detached retina, and multiple cuts on my eyes. I later found out that most of the people in the doctors office were positive that I would not retain vision.
Two years later, my vision is fine. I still need to go back for yearly check ups, which sucks, but I am so fortunate that I came out of that with nothing permanent. So that's my story, how about you?
