I had a wonderful argument with a step cousin who is stillin the military about the military. He's the typical grunt, so he's kind of stupid, maybe naive. Whatever though.. He still thinks all of that honor, duty jazz is more than just a sugar coating onsteaming load of... There is no right period. It's just a job. All of that war on terrorism and othercrapis just propaganda like every other war. To make peoplebelieve the dirty is some sort of righteous activity.
Combat is not a humanitarians line of work. It's for mercenaries. You get your orders and you go on patrol. Accidentally killing innocent people or deceived into killing innocent people is nothing compared to the harassment that will follow if you don't follow orders. You do what they sayand they will let you have 6-8hours of sleep. If you don't they will put you on some detail or extra duty that will keep you up so long you will only get 2-3 hours of sleep. So after enough of that you'll kill whoever they want just so you don't have to be subjected totheir harassmentanymore. So you're just a tool, their equipment. Doesn't matter how you feel about it because they don't care. If bombing a country full of blind crippled children is what it would take for them to obtain what they are REALLY after they wouldn't hesitate.
SO you either know what kind of foul activities you're getting into or you were foolish enough believe the commercials. It's the real, it's not some good guy bad guy thing, it's all bad. But forwhatever reason he just wants to hang onto this glorified heroic picture of the military. The only thing I can figure is that he was one of those fools who was duped into believing the U.S military is righteous and every other is evil. So now he doesn't want to accept the fact that he's just another grunt within another regime doing what they say when they say regardless of right or wrong just sohe can get a full night sleep. And that's all it has ever been. The only difference now is there's no draft.
It just comes down to.. do what they say and you won't be harassed and you get to sleep. Also if you're obedient you make ranktherefore you get paid more. If youdisagree you get harassment, if you follow orders you get rewarded. So in the end all combatants are just mercenaries. The military doesn't want humanitarians. They are not good killers and they tend to question orders, they are difficult. But if you harass most of them long enough they will surrender. So obedience is rewarded with lenience and points towards rank. higher rank means more pay. So what becomes their function? Sleep, eat, do whatever is asked of them, get paid then get the hell out of there AS SOON their contract expires.
People who haven't been in the military as a combatant nor know any have no idea what they brainwashing and conditioning does to a lot of them. Most never function normally after that. And their hamanity is gone. I figure most itof has to do with weakness and resentment towards their government. They don't know what to believe in anymore. They had asense of right and wrong, but they were sent to kill people they didn't know, a percentage of themwere legitmatecivilians.
I use to wonder why my dad always panicked when he made a mistake. You could see the fear in his eyes. His instinct was to quickly fix it or hide it some how. Later I come to find out the military did it to him. They had him so conditioned that years after being out of the military he instinctively panicked because of all of the **** they put him through whenever he made a mistake. He was so conditioned that in the back of his mind he still believed they were going punish him. He never really functioned normally after the military. His brother told me. He always got up 5 A:Mno matter what, alarm or no alarm. He would move like he was on speed, like someone was whipping him. Couldn't really communicate with people anymore. Untrusting, paranoid. No concern for wrong. That's what I see in my step cousin. He has become so conditionedhe will never function normally again.
