I had an argument with a vegatarian on another game site before and he stated that there is no reason to eat meat because he said "our bodies are not designed for it". Yes I know that we can live off ofplants alone but to say that our bodies were not designed for it is just stupid. We are Omnivores and we are able to digest both forms of food, if we werent designed for it then we could't digest it. Simple as that.

If anything, our bodies are not "designed" to eat plants since we can't properly digest cellulose.

Anyway... basically any idiotic argument in OT... there are a couple users who can't seem to make anything BUT idiotic arguments...

Oh god..so many different ones to choose from and from so many different environments. I've had pointless arguments with kids at school, home, work, just out and about, forums, gaming.

I had a wonderful argument with a step cousin who is stillin the military about the military. He's the typical grunt, so he's kind of stupid, maybe naive. Whatever though.. He still thinks all of that honor, duty jazz is more than just a sugar coating onsteaming load of... There is no right period. It's just a job. All of that war on terrorism and othercrapis just propaganda like every other war. To make peoplebelieve the dirty is some sort of righteous activity.

Combat is not a humanitarians line of work. It's for mercenaries. You get your orders and you go on patrol. Accidentally killing innocent people or deceived into killing innocent people is nothing compared to the harassment that will follow if you don't follow orders. You do what they sayand they will let you have 6-8hours of sleep. If you don't they will put you on some detail or extra duty that will keep you up so long you will only get 2-3 hours of sleep. So after enough of that you'll kill whoever they want just so you don't have to be subjected totheir harassmentanymore. So you're just a tool, their equipment. Doesn't matter how you feel about it because they don't care. If bombing a country full of blind crippled children is what it would take for them to obtain what they are REALLY after they wouldn't hesitate.

SO you either know what kind of foul activities you're getting into or you were foolish enough believe the commercials. It's the real, it's not some good guy bad guy thing, it's all bad. But forwhatever reason he just wants to hang onto this glorified heroic picture of the military. The only thing I can figure is that he was one of those fools who was duped into believing the U.S military is righteous and every other is evil. So now he doesn't want to accept the fact that he's just another grunt within another regime doing what they say when they say regardless of right or wrong just sohe can get a full night sleep. And that's all it has ever been. The only difference now is there's no draft.

It just comes down to.. do what they say and you won't be harassed and you get to sleep. Also if you're obedient you make ranktherefore you get paid more. If youdisagree you get harassment, if you follow orders you get rewarded. So in the end all combatants are just mercenaries. The military doesn't want humanitarians. They are not good killers and they tend to question orders, they are difficult. But if you harass most of them long enough they will surrender. So obedience is rewarded with lenience and points towards rank. higher rank means more pay. So what becomes their function? Sleep, eat, do whatever is asked of them, get paid then get the hell out of there AS SOON their contract expires.

People who haven't been in the military as a combatant nor know any have no idea what they brainwashing and conditioning does to a lot of them. Most never function normally after that. And their hamanity is gone. I figure most itof has to do with weakness and resentment towards their government. They don't know what to believe in anymore. They had asense of right and wrong, but they were sent to kill people they didn't know, a percentage of themwere legitmatecivilians.

I use to wonder why my dad always panicked when he made a mistake. You could see the fear in his eyes. His instinct was to quickly fix it or hide it some how. Later I come to find out the military did it to him. They had him so conditioned that years after being out of the military he instinctively panicked because of all of the **** they put him through whenever he made a mistake. He was so conditioned that in the back of his mind he still believed they were going punish him. He never really functioned normally after the military. His brother told me. He always got up 5 A:Mno matter what, alarm or no alarm. He would move like he was on speed, like someone was whipping him. Couldn't really communicate with people anymore. Untrusting, paranoid. No concern for wrong. That's what I see in my step cousin. He has become so conditionedhe will never function normally again.

Maybe we argued with the same guy. I remember a thread on here where a dude was saying that America was more racist than Hitler and that black people were done a valuable favor by the slave trade. He also said that white people are the indigenous residents of south africa and that they had been forced out by black immigrants.

People like that make me very angry. It is just plain ignorance, which seems to be the perquisite of being a neo-Nazi. How you could say that White people were indigenous to South Africa and that the slave trade was good is beyond me :| How did the argument end?

Think it was when someone posted that I only liked a certain track because it was played on a FIFA game, but I never played a FIFA game in my life I'm so not into football games (until they bring out a football RPG where you play as a single player not a team, make it happen you bastards).

I shouldn't of even replied but I did and ended up getting myself into a very pointless argument over the Internet. I don't get into many arguments because I tend to wander off to do something else after a while, or when I'm posting on the net I'm juggling around with other stuff and if one thing bores me I just switch it off.

I'm missing where this was a stupid argument. Was it a stupid argument because your cousin wouldn't just accept paragraphs of your opinions without any evidence (which ironically is what you're accusing him of doing)?

EDIT: Let me elaborate on this a little. Where's the argument? You wrote a page of your opinions on the military, some of which are of such a large scope that there's no way you're going to be able to prove a case one way or the other. How is this a stupid argument? What were your cousin's response? As far as I can tell, your definition of "stupid argument" is simply where someone doesn't accept a whole barrage of your opinions on complex and varying issues.

Got in a very serious argument with a mate about whether getting a tennis ball thrown full pace at you would hurt more than someone throwing a soccer ball at you.

Someone tried to argue with me about the number of friends I have, but I basically ignored him and didn't pay any attention. The dumbest argument I've probably ever been in and contributed to is most likely one about was the impact of 9/11... The guy was genuinely saying that it wasn't a big deal and that it shouldn't have gotten the attention it did, then went on to say that the Americans continue to overstate the devestation the attacks caused and that they should shut up about it, claiming that a terrorist attack in London in 2005 which killed 50 was equal in terms of the impact and the loss of life.

I seem to get into petty arguments with one of my high school best friend's girlfriend. She annoys me greatly, and I'm so glad I don't have to talk to her on a frequent basis.

I once presented statements from several renowned psychological organizations that proved that homosexual families are completely and utterly identical to heterosexual ones in terms of the ability to provide for children. The other dude countered by linking to a bunch of Christian family websites and insisted that they were psychological sources.

Yeah, I didn't take ever him seriously after that.

It's usually the stupid "I don't like ____ music, therefore it isn't music or it's terrible argument". Case in point, the locked thread on this page. However, I aplaud myself for not feeding the fire and posting in that thread. I think for my own mental health I'm done posting in those threads because a couple of weeks later, the same pointless weak argument will return.

A couple with my sister's mentally challenged boyfriend. He claimed that Jerusalem was in Egypt. *shrugs* Another time, he made a comment about Green Bay being in Tennessee. He apparently doesn't know what he is talking about and says these things with such arrogance.

I once got in an argument with an apple fanboy... Another argument I had was over the original purpose of the garlic sauce that comes with papa johns pizza. I believe that it was originally created for the entire pizza to be dipped into, not just the crust.
