I've never had a problem with Firefox, or any other web browser I've used. So I don't really concern myself with browser safety. If something did sneak through I expect my antivirus program would pick it up in a flash.
I wouldn't know, but I heard IE is pretty prone to viruses THat's largely down to the fact the IE users don't tend to be that techy and so click on popups and such.

Ehm I don't have any add ons installed currently on my FF and I like it that way... aww man, I couldn't survive without my AutoPager. It would kill me to have to hit the "next page" button when reading threads on Gamespot. Much easier to just keep scrolling down :D

are zone alarm and AVG anti-virus ok? Zone Alarm was a bit annoying to configure last time I used it ( had to get the paid version to open a port WTF?) but it, and AVG are fine
