[QUOTE="Fortier"][QUOTE="mynameisjosh657"]Emo is basically Goth-lite. It involves listening to underground emo/punk bands, dressing up in dark colors, usually growing your hair out (if you're a guy), being extremely moody and somewhat self-destructive. It also involves some bisexual behavior. That's pretty much the stereotype, but I don't think anybody really KNOWS what emo is. Same thing as preppy, you can't pinpoint what it is but you know it when you see it.

The bisexual behavior part was just plain wrong...I don't know whereyou pulled that from...and I don't see it having any relation to goth either...but other than that, you nailed the description of a stereotypical emo kid.
I read the bisexual part somewhere, I know that in the more extreme "emo" circles it's popular. It's one of the stereotypes of emo guys, that they are secretly bisexual or gay in some way. Not saying that they are, I was just trying to nail the stereotype based on society's perceptions of "emo".
actually the whole bi and gay is more the emo thing....my school.....middle school....8th grade ppl started turning gay and bi and all are emos...or emo wannabesFound out an ex gf was cheating a week after I bought an engagement ring and was planning on proposing to herdouble_decker:o, I hope I never experience that. Ouch.....

[QUOTE="mynameisjosh657"]I guess I'm a bit prejudiced towards "emo" behavior because of people I know who have gone through terrible things and are still normal people. One person I talk to, she's one of the nicest, smartest, most upbeat people to talk to. She's been kicked out of her family, lost her best friends and she almost died of mono. Compare that to your average emo kid.
Fortier
That's understandable...it isn't something I intended to critisize you over though...so sorry if I did somewhere. But this person sounds pretty resilliant...that's impressive she can still keep positive...
Well, its not just the things that happen to you, I think it depends a lot on your personality, and your psychological process.I got suspended from Gamespot for two days, nearly resulting in suicide....aaaaarrrrggggg
Well in grade 8, we had this piece of paper, where everyone would leave comments and their autograph for memories (since many of us were going to different high schools). And on my paper, everyone wrote, "You're good at math"cheetah_TM
Make a movie.
DireToad
No and a half.
For starters I wouldn't know where to begin, but I wouldn't want a film made about my life in general. Or a book, I just wouldn't want passers by I don't even know, to know my dark secrets.
That's about the last thing in the world I want.
Edit; ahahah, though I'm aware that's kinda what I just did saying it online, but a movie would be much different than a post only a few people I'll likely never meet see. It feels different at least, I don't know, maybe I'm contradicting myself. :P
I spent $8 on a burrito that I took one bite out of and dropped while walking in the streets =(AndrewXXXXXX:lol: sorry... thats sad.. When I heard I had type 1 Diabetes probably.
Yeah, I haven't let a woman close since, needless to say:? I do hope some day I will find one good enough to open up to again thoughUgh...thats pretty damn rough...

That must've sucked. I've been turned down quite a bit as well, but not like you, (and I'm straight). I hate when they don't like you, but but they never say it, but try to imply it through more hurtful means.

It was unbelievably hard, the girl I asked out was kind of being friendly to me. I think just to shoot me down, I can't really be sure. It was a very difficult time for me, being kicked out of my home especially, strange how one event can erupt like that. But on the good side, my best friends family took me in. (Very kind religious people, love them to death.) And that lead to me being with my spouse today, so it just goes to show how events can work out in ways you don't expect.
