[QUOTE="FragStains"][QUOTE="Dylan_11"]Well, the worst of the list of countries I've been to (which means the worst relative to the rest of the list) would be the US. No history, charm. Nothing that screamed, "Hey, come back and explore the US some more!".swizz-the-gamerWonderfully constructed criticism of my opinion. Your opinion is pretty ridiculous. Canada is one of the most beautiful nations in the world. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

Well, it was only a visit. But compared to Greece, Italy, and Turkey it was a cultural and historical wasteland.FragStains
Where did you visit?
And I'd assume most places seem like cultural and historical wastelands in comparison to Greece, Italy and Turkey. :P

Italy or Guatemala.
Obviously Italy is in a lot better shape than Guatemala, but going to Guatemala was one of the most important things I've ever done.
And when I went to europe as a tourist, Italy was way too hot. And the train union went on strike so we had to skip a a bunch of stuff, get up super early one morning, and go way out of our way to get to the only train leaving Genoa.
Edit:

How could you possibly say that?! Have you ever actually seen mountains? Been hiking on them?
I can't name any single country the "worst" among those I've visited. Maybe England, because it rained throughout the week I was there. But there was a lot of great history and I had fun. Certain parts of the US are despair-inducing. I've been to Los Angeles a few times and there were some areas that left me with a distinct feeling of hopelessness. And I say that as an American. But other parts of Cali, like San Diego/San Fransisco are definitely worth visiting.
How could you possibly say that?! Have you ever actually seen mountains? Been hiking on them?Yes for my entire life. What does that have to do with my personal taste of beauty? The outdoors are wonderful, but I value man made culture and architectural history more in terms of what I want to see. I'd buy a book of photos of historical architecture before I'd buy a book of photos of the outdoors that I've been surrounded by my whole life.Acemaster27

Natures beauty trumps anything man made. I'll take the mountains any day over some toppled rubble.[QUOTE="Acemaster27"]How could you possibly say that?! Have you ever actually seen mountains? [QUOTE="SpAsM86"]Why do you think that?I'm going to Syria this weekend so it's probably going to be the worst country i've been to
ghoklebutter
Well, i've been to Canada and Greece, but Syria is pretty disorganized and it's people are generally poor, plus it's a dictatorship so there's not much freedom, still i'm hoping to have a good time there
I've been to Canada, Portugal, Spain, Italy, Greece and the UK. I liked them all, but if I had to choose one I'd go with Canada.
EDIT: Oh and I was in Egypt last year! Great experience. :)
**** Jamaica. Seriously I feel bad for those that live there. I don't think I've had drugs literally forced on me so many times in my entire life. And people get pissed off when you don't clothes/food/whatever in some places. Really just a crummy place. Not that Cuba was much better but at least it had some better historical things.
eslovaquia, if I would've been older the time I went to some countries from the carbiean I might've said those
I've never been outside the US. I hear Iraq is pretty bad though.mohfrontline
Is it true that only 20% of Americans have a passport?
Ive been Syria, its an amazing country, in fact might i ask why you are even judging it without having been there?I'm going to Syria this weekend so it's probably going to be the worst country i've been to

Out of the tons of countries I have been too, I would have to pick Pakistan, Thailand, India and Nepal.LukeAF24Wow are you kidding me. All of those nations have much to offer, ESPECIALLY India. Ive been twice there and theres still so much to see.
I've never been outside the US. I hear Iraq is pretty bad though.mohfrontlinewell that might be because there is a war (if you can call it that) There Anyway, i would say italy. People were rude and inpolite there.

If you do go, obviously Damascus is the place, but try going Petra in neighbouring Jordan, which you might remember from the third Indiana Jones film. When i go travelling, i go for a country's culture and beauty, if you can appreciate that, youll love it. Ive been to many Arab states, Dubai for example is pretty crappy, i dont see why people keep going there, i know a lady whos been 15 times and yes, plans to go more. Abu Dhabi and Doha which are within driving distance are simply stunning, in fact Doha changes so fast its worth going there for repeated visits (ive been there three times to visit family, loads of Brits there, and its virtually unrecognisable every time because of the development).I'm going to Syria this weekend so it's probably going to be the worst country i've been to

The Turkish occupied half of Cyprus. The first night there I threw up non-stop, there was very little to do but swelter in the heat and protect yourself from the giant insects that inhabited the area. Also, Turkish Airways was the worst I've ever flown with in terms of actual flying skills and general service.AirGuitarist87Yeah Cyprus is beautiful naturally, and if youre into the whole relaxing/beach thing its okay, but thats not me at all so i found the place to be rather boring.
Yeah went Toronto, nice place and all, but i was done with it in a few days. Great place to live but not exactly the best place to go for a holiday. Where in Wales did you go? Most us in the UK go there for activities and stuff but theres little much else there.I've been to the UK and Canada and live in the US. Canada was awfully boring. Wales was beautiful.

I'm embarrassed, but it was so long ago that I'm not entirely sure exactly where i was. I was roughly 13 years old. We hopped around some coastal towns, the scenery was great, ate fish and chips (my FAVORITE thing about the UK, why the hell has it not caught on here??). All of the UK was great but I guess I hit the sweet spot as to where I was in Wales. The sun was out, the weather was decent. Maybe it was just a good day more than anything? It was great though. Was only there a day, spent the other 13 in the rest.
Apparently this is the city of Swansea? It looked something like this, only more... coastal if that makes sense? Beaches and the like. Didn't go to the beaches (too cold), but just touring the towns like this on a holiday was great. Everyone touring and hanging out, and eating...yes... FISH AND CHIPS! :D
Sorry if the picture doesn't work. I've never messed around with pictures on this site before.

Well you made the most of it:P I do love picturesque towns, havent been Swansea but you make it sound very nice:) Its just that with me, i get bored quickly of quite places so we tend visit places that are well, bustling.I've been to the UK and Canada and live in the US. It's just your bog standard "big city" with very little special about it. It depends where in Syria you've been to, some people i know tell me it's pretty disgusting, and others tell me it's allright, so i think it's going to be a bit good, but not as good as Greece or Canada
Out of those ive been to, im gonna go with india.(Though this is very area specific. Some parts ae pretty nice)
I've been to Canada, Mexico, Brazil, and Engalnd.
In my opinion England was the worst because I was expecting London to be more civilized that Rio and Tijuana, but the streets are packed with more homeless people and general decay than the other cities I visited.
But I'm used to it cause I'm from Detroit.:P
I don't know about worst, but India was the one with the biggest slums that i've ever seen (they told us it was the biggest in the world).OntainErm... not sure if you noticed it but its a COUNTRY. The whole COUNTRY isnt a slum, it has slums in it. There happens to be a difference. Its like saying USA is a mcdonalds just because there are lots of them.
