I honestly can't think of a really bad injury I've had. Never broken a bone, never been seriously hurt. *knock on wood*. And I've played sports all of my life and have done martial arts since high school.

Bumps, bruses, cuts, rolled/semi sprained ankles, jammed fingers, i've gotten my bell rung, scrapes, mat burns, sore muscles, pulled muscles, back aches, etc.

Actually, now that I'm thinking about it... when I was in middle school, I went up for a layup during one basketball game. I got fouled hard. Something got hurt in my back. Must have been a REALLY bad pinched nerve. Because it hurt SO bad for probably a year. I just played through it and even played baseball through it.

Baseball it was terrible. When I would swing, the twisting motion made pain shoot to my stomach and shoot down my legs and it would make my knees buckle and almost collapse. My whole stomach/back area felt so weak and shakey like it could hardly support my torso.

Yeah, that was the worst pain ever. How could I forget about that...

I never got it officially looked at. I just rested for basically a full year and took it easy, and it went away.

I have a friend whose wife was in a car accident, basically her car rolled on its roof and slided down the road for a few meters. Long story short, she ended up under the car and slided with it, just the mere thought of skidding your knee on cement is bad, but sliding down the road with a car on top of you must be the most horrible experience ever. While this isn't that much on topic, it just makes me thankful that I was spared from experiencing such immense pain.

I am shocked how many young people have had kidney stones. I feel like I should count myself as lucky lol.

Did you guys drink nothing but soda growing up or something?

I keep hearing about kidney stones and that scares me. Most probably getting kicked in the doodles or when my leg disconnects. Weirdly the more severe injuries i had didn't entirely hurt a significant amount i predict it was due to shock like when i banged my head and just pouring blood i think i was more scared that i would turn dumb than anything at the time.

primary dysmenorrhea

no words, man.

I think a friend of mine has that. She sometimes has to take vicodin to deal with the pain and she's the kind of person that hates taking medicine. I can't imagine going through that every month. As for me, probably the time I broke my wrist and snapped both bones. I remember they gave me a ton of painkillers when they where resetting it that I couldn't even feel it anymore. Plus the vicodin had a really bad effect on me and for like two weeks afterwards I couldn't sleep and I was always nauseaous and throwing up.

Oh God what do I even pick. Short-term pain: Being next to a wire cable with an extreme amount of tension on it that snapped and slashed my back like a whip. Long-term pain: Having my adenoids and tonsils removed, followed by the scabs in my throat being cut (don't know how), leading to pain whenever I talked, swallowed, and sometimes breathed. Also vomited lots of blood.

Concussion. I was in the 7th grade playing baseball in PE. I was next up to bat. The guy in front of me took a swing and let go of the bat. Hit me square in the forehead.

Was at the dentist once to have surgery on my first molar which had to be removed otherwise it would grow itself into the skull. Unfortuneatly me being a well grown and tall kid at the age of 9, and in danish tradition, dentists only apply local anesthetics, and the doctor underestimated how much aneshetic i needed, so at first glance he simply just sliced my gum open without a care in the world. Now THAT is my definition of painfull. But oh wells, im gonna get dental implants in a few months anyway so i'll have to see whether it will be the slicing of a gum or two screws drilled into my skull that hurts the most... if not, the sound will probably be painful...

When I was 16, a gangbanger carved into my back with an ice pick, that was quite painful. I also got hit in the calf with buckshot by some drug runner crossfire when I was 14. Oh yeah, and not to mention the dozen times as a child I nearly starved to death, that's a completely indescribable pain.

It is a toss up between my fractured wrist, crushed fingers (didn't hurt until I thawed out) and my broken ribs that I didn't know were broken until a month after I first started hurting.

Damn reading some posts here made me cringe :|. Anyhoo falling from a 5ft wall flat on my face, broke my jaw. Fell down a set of metal stairs, literally blacked out and woke up at the bottom with my friends laughing at me :( And more recent, getting a football (soccer) straight to the gentleman area. Worst painful experience ever.

Probably when I had to watch the look on my dads face as I lost match after match in varsity wrestling. He had just finished congratulating me a few weeks earlier too... not physical pain, but emotional tops it all. :(

One time on a school trip I reached the point of bursting where I had to pee. The bus driver didn't want to stop. He made me hold it 3 hours past the point where I felt I was going to die. I don't know how many of you have tried that. But it was worse than torture. I don't want to talk about it!

My big toenail was kicked up off the nailbed by my mom as she was running when I was 6-7. It was hanging off by the cuticle, and the doctor said it would hurt more to give me shots to numb me up than just get some grips and yank it off. I agreed; worst decision of my life.

I literally saw stars it was so painful.

My major injuries include concussions, broken wrist, broken hand, broken vertebrae, torn ligaments, broken nose and cuts requiring many stitches but nothing compares to the 36 hours of agony I went through with a kidney stone.

Never had really bloody and gory incidents.

I've had a Nephrotic Syndrome last year so I need a steroid treatment which increases the chance to have cramps if a certain muscle part is used. Every midnight, **** happens.

[QUOTE="campzor"]i had an ingrown toenail ..and it got infected and they had to cut open my toe to clean it out...excruciating pain... they numbed it my ass!Dr_Manfattan

pretty much the same, except i had both my big toenails removed...the doctor put about 3 injections in each toe, completely missing the nerve endings he was supposed to inject. so i could feel everything as he basically used scissors to cut straight down the noenail...but they grew back and so i had to have it done again (he still missed the nerve endings, the useless ****) but the third time i had to have it done he decided he should send me to someone who does it more often, it took about a 10th of the time and i felt pretty much nothing after the injections...ive had a strong dislike for that doctor ever since.

funnily enough (but not really) I had to get it done twice as well and got 2-3 injections too. Though the 2nd time was just as painful as the first.

Ouch, I had to hold a little girl's leg down while they tried to shove the toe nail back under the skin. The screaming and trembling was worse than the blood.

I was practicing hand-offs for a relay when I ran track in High School. I was nearing the end of the hand-off zone and the guy that was supposed to hand-off to me was too far back, so I slowed down, and he sped up, both of us a bit too much I guess, and he tripped me up. I hit the ground at almost a dead sprint and slid on the ground, basically skinning my left elbow and hip.. two places on the body that have very little protection between the skin and the bone. :(
