BMI is more accurate then going by weight alone as it factors in height. But obviously it's not a perfect system given different body types. But unless your regular PCP has a tub to calculate your body fat, it's the best they got.
It doesn't account for muscle mass, and was invented by a scrawny man in the 19th century. For all we know, he could be responsible for the trend towards unattractive thinness that exists today.foxhound_foxThis. The fact that it's still considered to be credible is odd.

This means you step in the Healthy weight range

but BMI is utter crap, it depends on your height and when you're tall it sort of makes you feel bad for being so skinny :(
