@dylandr: kurwa
Someone's been watching Russia car crash and fails compilations XD

@dylandr: I also know how to use Google Translate XD The spelling differs but Polish have it, Hungarians have it, Russians have it...but it became YT's favourite cursing word after the non-ending Russian car crashes XD
If swearing isn't appropriate I just don't. Don't think I replace it with anything...maybe "bloody" every now and then.
Yeah same here, swearing might flow nicely into a conversation, but words like fricken really don't.
@Serraph105: It's probably harder for people who swear without really noticing...I normally swear on purpose for emphasis or comedic value (works with the right crowd) so it's not too hard not to because it's probably not just going to slip in during normal speech.
@Toph_Girl250: You can always blabber drunken scottish or irish right?
Eh, probably, never tried that so not sure. Reminds me though, Scotland and Ireland are two places I'd be interesting in visiting someday. Especially Ireland, them four leaf clovers and luckiness man. :P
Smurf
"What the smurf?"
"Go smurf yourself."
"Smurf you!"
My son rented a DVD of smurf episodes, and that's not far from a lot of the phrases. We were kind of shocked (and amused).
My favorite remains a chestnut from my elementary days - "Son of a biscuit."
Truffle butter. It's just plain fun to say and if you look it up on urban dictionary you will not be disappointed with this magnificent phrase's definition (assuming you don't already know it).
Go ahead and scream it out next time you feel the need to cuss and you'll see what I'm talking about.
@byof_america: I really wish I hadn't googled that...it's far more disgusting than any cuss word I've ever used. Good job =P
I kinda don't understand why cussing around kids is frowned upon. They're eventually gonna learn the words anyway. Might as well start early. :P
@dylandr: Yes. I make an effort to use alternative speech, but not necessarily any particular alternative words in place of swear words.
I find that swear words oversimplify situations and cause a lack of understanding. Why bother with them?
Well for some people swearing is about the only good way to relieve some anger, frustration, and tension. Not everyone has the capability of being as patient as a Saint.

I wonder if it really is about the only good way. I used to swear, often, and it did not ease any tension, for me. On the contrary, I was more uncomfortable by uttering those words. By utilizing introspection, I came to the conclusion that it was not solving any of my problems and it has been much more beneficial to study language and thoroughly understand the complexity of speech and writing. It clears my mind in a way that reveling in anger cannot.
I'm usually just on time holding the words in and end up saying just the first letter "FFFFFFFF...!!!"

Hmmm... I see. Well cussing still feels perfectly fine for me, and it does feel like it relieves some tension/irritation, when there are times I get frustrated with things. I still don't see a problem with it at all, and don't see how its pointless. Cussing I'd say shouldn't be a problem at all, as long as its not sprinkled onto every sentence.

Swearing may have a point, but I do not believe it is the best way to make one. Swearing typically references genitalia in some puzzling way rather than utilizing more accurate speech. It can be useful, but it also is a way to speak that confuses logic. I have been told that swearing is a way to add emotional emphasis to what is said, but I believe that it hinders emotional response. As humanity is a social species, a lack of response can be construed as a form of apathy which is worse than hatred. I would rather someone explains to me why I am liked in detail than someone informing me, "You are [insert swear word of choice] hot." I say that because I prefer to understand human kind and the world. Swearing is not always useful for that purpose while good articulation is, granted a person is cognizant.
