I've always liked Golden Retrievers. They seem to have a great disposition.

1. Pembroke Welsh Corgi
2. German Shepherd
3. Cardigan Welsh Corgi
4. Australian Cattle Dog
5. Border Collie
Corgis have the most hilarious sleeping positions:
Of all the dogs I've had, the black labs were far and away the best people dogs (though I've never had a collie). They just seemed far more empathetic with the humans around them than the other breeds.
no order:
and I'll throw in my least favorites just for the hell of it:
In no particular order.
Labrador Retriever
Miniature Schnauzer
Yorkshire Terrier
Golden Retriever
Rottweiler.
We have a Yorkie who i'm pretty sure is a cross breed but with what slips my mind at the moment. My brother also has a Mini Schnauzer who's pretty adorable but incredibly hyper.
in no particular order...
border collie
yorkshire terrier
lab
husky
whatever kind of dog lassie is (i think it's a collie variation?)
All dog breeds share a major flaw and that is that they're not cats. Saying that, my grandmother has some dachshunds which are pretty nice, a bit annoying as well. Commander-GreeYou say that like it it's a bad thing. I don't really have any favorite breeds, but after my current dog (which is a jack russel / pug mix), the top thing on my list is a dog that doesn't shed.
