Here in AZ? Winter, of course. Summers here get so hot (110-120 F) and humid we get high-base thunderstorms. When the thunderstorms collapse, the downdrafts are sometimes strong enough to blown down trees or even break ceramic roof tiles. They also cause flash floods and severe dust storms. When the rains arrive, so do all the pesky insects such s mosquitoes.
Winters here are cool, sometimes near freezing overnight then goes up to the 60's during the day which is my sweet spot for outdoor activities.
@korvus: i'm having a hard time wrapping my head around this concept because what you're telling me is simply bizarre
i can, in theory, walk around in the netherlands and - without initial provocation nor subsequent repercussion - inform random strangers that they look like crap?
i'm buying a ticket as we speak
@BiancaDK: That's the concept, yeah. A couple months ago my mother-in-law was all pissed because someone at the choir she sings at informed her that her hat was ugly, so she was telling me "Who does she think she is to tell me my hat is ugly? She should mind her own business!" so I asked her "Wasn't she the lady whom you last month informed her skirt belonged in the 70s?" so she answers "yeah, but that's different, her skirt was UGLY, my hat is not so she had no right!"...been living here for 3 years, still don't follow...
@dylandr: Definitely. I normally don't have trouble with anyone up to their 30s...it's 40 and up normally. Teens and twenties couldn't care less what I look like, what I wear, where I come from, how much money I make or what language I speak...they're chill and normally very enthusiastic =)
@dylandr: I'm Korvulicious and everyone knows it!
@BiancaDK: I love it how she always gives her opinion until we tell her not to, then she'll wait until you say what you want to do and then she goes "That's the wrong answer..." and if you ask her why she replies "Because that's not what I would do"
summer all the way for the following reasons:
I'm torn between Fall and Spring.
Spring
The weather is warming up, I can get out the house and play golf, the everything starts to become green after the bleak winter months, baseball season starts
Fall
The weather cools down (I don't like the dog days of summer), Football (U.S.), baskeball (College and NBA), and Hockey season are starting, the World Series takes place. Lots going on in fall.
late spring/early summer because i fucking hate winter and and by then it's nice and out will be for a long time before it's winter again
@Iszdope: "And I tan nicely."
How do you tan badly?
Anyway, the winter used to be fun back in the day. But this and last year's Chicago winter reminds me I really enjoy the Summer days. Not heat waves though.
Well, if you're one of those people who gets burned easily and need to cultivate a tan over an entire month of cautious sunbathing to slowly get some colour, risking your skin everyday and then turning white again pretty quickly, I'd call that tanning badly.
Especially when there's lucky bastards who spend 2 hours in the sun with no sunscreen and get golden brown that very same day.
@ianhh6:
Wow. But with that said, why do white people get tans? Are they really not satisfied with their natural skin tone?
I dunno... I've also asked myself that question, but I find there's just something attractive about a healthy, natural tan which I can't explain. That said it's not a decisive factor, a person with a pretty or ugly face is going to be pretty or ugly with or without a tan.
Fall wins by default, but there are aspects of other seasons (except winter) that I enjoy almost as much. Spring feels soooo goood after winter (which I hate) but **** that dawn chorus:
I've got myself a bright green laser to chase away the worst offenders this year, but that still means being woken up before dawn.
Summer is hot and humid as hell here, but I love summer nights...except for the mosquitoes. I swear I'm some kind of mosquito Casanova because they fucking love me. No one else will get bit and I'll lose all my blood. Queue the Deet...smells like shit, gotta shower it off before bed, but it works.
So fall. I love the crispness in the air, the color of the trees, the increasing lack of blood-thirsty insects, the quite mornings, and for some reason I always take Led Zeppelin up this time of year. Probably thanks to Ramble On ('The leaves have fallen all around...").
**** mosquitoes. **** birds. I'm on to you bitches. So fall, for me, wins by having the least annoyances.
But totally **** winter, dude.
The transition from winter to spring.
there are usually some pretty good thunderstorms. and i love me a good thunderstorm.

Same, but our severe weather around here usually comes July/August...the 'popcorn' variety stirred up by the heat and humidity of summers here in the valley.
Any thunderstorms sweeping across the state from the west usually weaken as they fall off the plateau.

So pale skin is not healthy?
Didn't mean that. Seriously I can't explain it, but from how popular getting tanned is I suspect I'm not the only one who feels that way.
