It really aggravates me when you make a topic asking a question, and you give the most "general" answer ever. My favourite genre is Metal, since most of the bands I listen to happen to fall under that tag.
I like Trip-Hop, Hip-hop, Alternative Rock, Jazz, Ambient, IDM, Electronic, Miminal techno, Shoegaze, Drone, Post-Rock. I can't just choose one, absurd.
Rap. The lyrics and its creativity is just amazing... Well, for the most part... I still CANNOT believe that all the crap songs are the most popular these days.
Prepare to get spammed for not including "metal" :P. That said, I like Classic Rock/Hard Rock, mostly '60s-'80s stuff (Springsteen, Black Sabbath, AC/DC, The Eagles, etc.).
Progressive Death, Blackened Death, and Atmospheric/Ambient Doom.
Progressive music in general for the most part. It's the only type of regular rock I can listen to since it's more creative than the cookie-cutter stuff that plagues pop-culture. Seriously how many times do we need to hear the same song structure? :?
Punk rock '77 and '82(actual punk, not all that radio created pop punk garbage *shivers*), 90's alternative(I grew up with it and it has always reminded me of better times), 80's rock, 60's rock (Vietnam sucked ass, but it had a great soundtrack, ex. Jimi Hendrix)
Pretty much all progressive music. New wave, rock, metal, as long as it is progressive I'm game. I enjoy most other genres of music, but progressive rock is hands down my favorite.
Rock. Not only do I like ye cIassique roque like the Beatles, Rolling Stones, ZZ Top, etc., harder rock like the Scorpions, and even the wonderful subgenre known as "metal".

Nope, I'm pretty sure he means stuff like KISS and Led Zeppelin.
But why would he include Classic Rock and Rock as two separate categories? It would be more appropriate to have categories such as "Classic Rock/Hard Rock" and "Metal/other harder forms of metal," or "Classic Rock" and "Hard rock/metal."

i like indie, experimental, mc rap and hip hop, metal, all sorts including the cure and the smiths type music. music is the best. but as you can see in my signature circa survive is my favorite, i can only describe them as euphoric and atmospheric indie music that is perfect to get out of your mind to.
